The science of swing, club face, alignment, etc. is key to being a good player in golf. Of course after this you might still think that golf is still not important. But with a few facts i’m sure I can get you to agree with a few of my statements. Here is why you should think golf is sport.

Why isn’t Golf a sport? Golf isn’t considered a sport for many reasons. The first most used reason is that Golf doesn’t require physical activity and is not rigorous to your body. But in fact you burn more calories than a person that goes to the gym. You burn a total of 360 calories per hour while playing golf but when you are working out you only burn a total of 343 calories per hour. Another reason as to why people don’t think golf is a sport is that Golf does not require defense against the player's opponent. There is no reason as to why it does require physical contact. As the sport is not football or basketball. This quote relates to the argument proposed in this paper:

Many organizations such as The International Olympic Committee, are ones that support golf being a sport. Also, golf is considered a sport by many different athletic companies such as, Nike, EA, etc. It is common for those who don’t understand the sport will likely dislike it or hate it. Golf is an industry that makes about $76 Billion annually and is composed of 27,000 males and females. Which makes it a pretty big sport. However, Golf hasn’t always been popular. Golf was originally played in Scotland in 1457 by a couple of men that I would guess were wanting to have fun and now it has become a multi-billionaire

Let’s drive really fast, make a left turn; repeat this process three more times. Now, continue to do this for three to four hours Sounds exciting, right? Many people would be reluctant to consider driving a car around an asphalt or concrete track for several hours on a hot Sunday afternoon an actual sport. In fact, there are many who would not consider these glorified “Sunday Drivers” to be real athletes. Why should something that millions and millions people do each and every day be put on the same level as basketball, football, baseball, and track and field. The men and women who take the court and field, they are true athletes, right? Yes, they are. "I am a golfer, not an athlete." These are the words from Lee Westwood, a current golf pro, who at one point in his life was ranked as high as the 5th best golfer in the world. Despite what most people think, golf is a game, not a sport. A sport can be a game, but a game doesn 't have to be a sport (Johnson 2). Recently, CNNSI did a poll on whether or not golf is a sport, and the answer was a definitive "No." Golf is a game that can be played by people of all age and sizes, and requires absolutely no athletic ability, which makes it not a sport (Thomas 1).…

Marching band is more than the effort the performers put into making their performances perfect, more than just watching a bunch of people walk around the field for ten minutes, and more than the cool uniforms and props.
