1.1 Introduction
Due to unrestrained number of enrollees every school year , the researchers made a proposal to make this LAN Based Enrollment System of the Mabini Colleges, High School Department located at Daet, Camarines Norte to eliminate errors in transactions like the loss of data, data redundancy, time consuming and etc. Due to manifold number of transactions, the establishment needs a new system that will help them ease works effectively.
The connection of this project to the ICT field (Database Management System) 1, is to handle data regarding on the student’s information, and also on the transactions in the student’s account the business has on hand. Database Management System allows organizations to conveniently use databases for various applications such by the database administrator (DBAs) and other specialists.
The system provides folder that contains list of student’s personal information as well as their post grades. This will serve as their storage of necessary information about their contemporary students. It will be accessed only by authorized personnel of the said establishment.
This project is a LAN – based enrolment system focuses in Mabini Colleges, High School Department. This system is developed by the researchers to help the said establishment in the way that the enrollment system will be faster in accommodating students. Having troubles in enrolment like time – consuming, mishandled information and error in recording transactions are eliminated by using the new computerized system rather than the manual enrollment system and it will help to be more efficient, effective and less cost in making transactions.
The development of any information system can be put into two major phases: Analysis and Design. During analysis phase, the complete functioning of the system is understood and requirements are defined which lead to designing of a new system.
