As impressive as technology is, it does have many negative effects on kids. Technology is not a substitute for good parenting. While
Technology is here to stay, and it is progressing quicker than fathomable. While technology does have copious amounts of positives, it is having some rather ominous negative effects on kids. Kids are growing up too fast and are being exposed to too much at a young age. This will skew their view of the world and its inhabitants.

It is rather difficult to assign blame to technology as it pertains to kids. The negative effects of technology on kids is subjective, and open to discussion. While there are many boons associated with technology, the lifestyle of kids today is vastly different than prior generations as a direct result of technology. It does seem that there are negative effects on kids due to technology, more-so than positive effects. Parents need to be fully aware of their kids' every move, knowing that technology may lead them to the brink of despair.

Parents should be cognizant of the role that technology is playing in their own lives, as well as in the lives of their children. Parents need to monitor their kids' reliance on technology much the same as they should monitor all of their activities. Left to their own devices, kids may become completely dependent upon technology, squashing their logic and reasoning skills. If the power goes out, many kids today seem to think that the world should stop, and that their academic assignments cannot possibly be completed. This learned helplessness is one of the biggest negative effects that technology has on kids.

Technology is redesigning the landscape that we have grown accustomed to, and in this regard it is negatively affecting children. The negative effects of technology are numerous, and each one produces new troubles.
