Effects Of High Impact Sports
High impact sports could be dangerous without the proper padding and protection. High impact sports include: football(tackle), girls soccer, ice hockey, girls basketball, boys lacrosse, and many more. The long term effects of high impact sports are concussions and CTE’s.
The first effect of high impact sports are concussions. The sidebar in “Hard knocks” states that high school football has a concussion rate of 94/10,0000 athletes.(17) This explains that out of every sport, football has the highest head-on-head collision rate. “I feel like i got a concussion last week” Monti says. “I don’t feel like my life will ever be the same because of them”(17).
