High Impact Sports Analysis
All sports can cause injuries but high impact sports cause the most. The article “Hard Knocks” talks about injuries from high impact sports. Long term health effects from high impact sports are CTE which cause suicidal thoughts and concussions which lead to brain injuries.

One long term effect of high impact sports are suicidal thoughts. The article states “several former players-all found to have CTE have committed suicide”(15). The importance of this statement is to show that people who receive a CTE injury have a higher chance of committing suicide. “92 former NFL players who donated their brains for research suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) a brain disease induced by repetitive head trauma and linked to depression, aggression,impulse-control problems,memory loss, and dementia”(15).This shows how many former NFL players receive injuries to the head, and how they donate their brains to research for the next players know that this can happen to them if they aren't safe. …show more content…
This shows how colleges, high schools, and youth leagues are worried about the players receiving concussions while playing. “50 percent of Americans wouldn't want their sons to play football”(16). This shows how 5 years ago before all this research parents wanted their children to play football but now half of parents don't want their children to play
