Introduction:
Communication is the activity of transmitting information. It has been taken from the Latin word "communis", meaning to share. It is to exchange and flow of information and ideas from one person to another; a sender transmitting an information, idea or feeling to a receiver. The process of communication is composed of three elements: one is the source like speaker, transmitter, or instructor. Second is the symbols used in writing and transmitting the message such as words and signs. And third is the receiver like listener, reader, or students, although the receiver does not need to be present or aware of the sender 's intent to communicate at the time of communication.
The communication process is completed once the receiver has understood the message of the sender. Feedback is important to effective communication between parties.
Effective communication is measured by the similarity between the idea transmitted and the idea received. It occurs only if the receiver understands exactly the information or idea with the same meaning that the sender wanted to transmit. The goals of effective communication include creating a common perception, changing behaviors and acquiring information.
Communication is important for success, but if any disturbance occurs the message will be destroyed and will interrupt the flow of communication from the sender to the receiver. These barriers make communication become ineffective and leads to confusion and can cause good plans to fail. Therefore such barriers should got rid and overcome them to ensure effectiveness of the communication.
