ARTE 314 Final Unit Feedback

Name: Albor Moscoso ✔ ✔ Title Page & Table of Contents Title Page - Contains title of the Unit, Grade Level(s) Addressed, Your Name and Date Table of Contents- Outlines all the pieces and parts of your Unit Prototype(s) One or more works of art that are made in response to the Question of Inquiry (EC) and Objectives. Should use the materials you expect your students will use. Should be of the highest quality, meaning donʼt try and make what you think they will make, make ART! Comments Think about how a cover can visually communicate the themes and ideas that are within your unit. Donʼt forget weʼre artist-teachers. Perhaps you could add an image? You have a nice table of contents

✔ ✔

Comments You have a good prototype that has excellent skills exhibited and fine sense of design. Iʼm a little confused when I look at the prototype and then see the resource examples and the objectives to try and understand how you got to where you did? Hopefully it will be clearer as I read on.

ARTE 314 Final Unit Feedback

✔ ✔

Unit Overview Question of Inquiry/Enabling Constraint- What big idea or question will guide the inquiry throughout the Unit? What is the problem to be solved?

Comments You have: “What memories have you created and what memories are you reminded of when you reflect with your precious object?”- Perhaps you can simplify this question for students- a suggestion- If you were to have to leave your home and could only take one object that would remind you of ___________, what would it be? Youʼre objective is well balanced: Form, theme, context, age appropriate and achievable. Well articulated and clear. However see my note in the prototype. I might be misinterpreting... Good selection of PLOʼs for your stated objectives. Well done. I donʼt see where youʼve planned for student diversity. This is always an important activity when starting to plan units. Yes, I know that itʼs impossible to plan for everything but you

The setup of the classroom had four round tables with six seats for the capacity of 24 students in total. The round tables were placed as a ‘U’ with the opening towards the front of the classroom. There was a colorful rug in the middle of the ‘U”, with the alphabet displayed on it. With the placement of the tables, it was very easy for the teacher and teaching assistants to walk around to help any student in need. The colorful area rug was designed for out loud reading activities and lessons. The class was very organized. All toys, supplies and materials were labeled and put into storage bins in the back of the classroom where anyone can easily access it.…

Learning is a natural ability that is wired into many animals DNA; the way that humans should learn has been debated by the various educators because of the endless ways to teach. Teachers and parents take this matter seriously like Ralph Waldo Emerson in “From Education” and Todd Gitlin in “The Liberal Arts in an Age of Info-Glut” who created essays on education; and Billy Collins in “The History Teacher” entail for then and who wrote a poem concerned with the status of education. These people show what the importance of education is entailing what learning should and should not involve; a teacher should respect and have patience for children; a teacher should also let a child have creativity and lessons of the past.…

Higher education is critical in a developed economy. In most developed countries, education is considered a basic right. Hence the costs of higher education is highly subsidized by governments. This results in a significantly reduced number of students that need to work to pay for their education. The United states is one of the few counties, developed or otherwise, where the almost all the burden of paying for higher education is put on the student. This has certain interesting consequences. One of them is the relatively large proportion of college students working. The increase in tuition in the past decade have cause this to increase even further. In “For Many College Students, A Job (or Two) to Pay Tuition”, an article in the New York Times, DAVID KOEPPEL found that every year, more students were looking for an campus jobs. New York University employed 2000 more students in 2003 compared with previous years. The percentage of college students working has been growing since the 1906s (Stern and Nakata, 1). How this affects students and whether or not students should work therefore have become increasingly important questions.…

Education, define as the art of systemic learning inspire every one of us, and educated human beings are able to possess the power of influence in academic discourses. If there’s no input, then there will be no output, and believe it or not, education allows people to be creative and innovative in developing our digital world. Generation after generation, the medium of providing education has improved in using interactive technology such as - digital projector, high-speed laboratory camera, multi-function writing board and etc. “If we can match highly effective educators with great entrepreneurs”, admits Joane Wesis, the author of “ The Innovation Mismatch: “ Smart Capital” and Education Innovation, “and if we can direct smart capital toward these projects, the market for technological innovation might just spurt from infancy into adolescence.” The author hold similar viewpoints that education behaves as an important source of input for generating prosperous output that motivates to share the benefits of one’s creativity to the community. Understanding the philosophy of becoming educated is crucial, and also important to explore the concept that education drives us to interact with society by finding ways to earn for living. One might wisely pursue the education for the benefits of mankind, but for few some people misleading concept of getting educated, for instance; in the case of nuclear scientists developing nuclear-powered weaponry will bring negative impact to our society, and that’s why there are no limits to pursue education and no limits on manifesting the application of education onto our society. On the other hand, formal education is highly necessary to decode the discourse in our academic community as well as be able to define their specific ideas. Thus, an educated person could award and/or tolerate the aspirations of human being by using the perceived knowledge, and determine their correct or incorrect benefits to the…

The performance of most South African schools fluctuates from time to time. These fluctuation trends are as a result of the micro-evolutionary mechanistic changes that consistently take place throughout the country. Some schools in the urban areas perform extremely well, but some perform poorly despite the available resources that the school have. For example some of these schools have laboratories that are highly functional and also well structured for experimental as well as practical work which enhances skills in learners and also intensifies the existing theoretical knowledge that the learners have, whereas in schools geographically featured in remote areas or should I say rural schools, these resources are scarce. Privileged learners in these schools (urban) do not utilize these resources appropriately. Most learners in rural areas come from very disadvantaged homes and go to disadvantaged schools. However, the performance in some of these schools is satisfactory. Some learners academically excel irrespective of the harsh conditions they have to encounter on a daily basis. These Excellencies are facilitated by educators, parents/guardians or community members who act as “steering” in the learning environment. Educators in these schools sympathize with their learners and thus dedicate themselves in everything they do which effectively enhance as well make active the mindset of learners irrespective of their spectral backgrounds. We often hear of these educators who play such critical roles in learner’s academic life in newspapers, community radio stations and also on televisions. Some of the work of these educators may not be globally recognized but the outcomes are truly appreciated in the South African context.…

In an idealistic perspective, general education should be given much emphasis. True enough, even in the tertiary level in the Philippines, general subjects are still taken for the development of wholeness and excellence as human beings. The curriculum of our education system is also cumulative. Therefore, there is progression in learning while harnessing our past knowledge. Idealism in education gave importance to the subjects like philosophy, theology, history, literature and arts. This is evident especially in college. In some universities, the students are mandatory to take philosophy and theology in 12 units each. These subjects invoke the students to be conscious truth seekers as they step out in the real yet materialistic world. Whereas the science subjects, it help the students in dealing with cause and effect relationships. Language, too, is given high importance as our tool for communication. Moreover, critical thinking is highly imposed on the students so that we may not be deceived by our senses. Ideally, all of the subjects should be values-integrated and deals with real-life problems. The education system in the Philippines may not be too concerned with the Macrocosm concept but usually, especially in the Catholic schools, the curriculum is theocentric and there is the emphasis on acting in Christ-like ways, which can be considered as the ideals.…
