Small Group
12 Students (7 girls, 5 boys)
Individual desks facing toward the Smart Board for group instruction.
Students are at a variety of reading levels so that slower learners will benefit from hearing advanced readers and advanced readers will be available for assistance and encouragement.
(e.g., group size, learning context, location [classroom, field trip to zoo, etc.], seating arrangement, bulletin board displays)

Read with understanding and fluency utilizing the rereading strategy Gunning, T. (2010).

Lesson Objective(s):

At the end of the lesson students will be able to use the rereading strategy (Gunning, p. 340) to continuously monitor and repair their understanding of classroom materials.
Students will identify problematic words or phrases using a highlighter on the first reading.
Students will reread the selected text to locate context clues to assist in repair of comprehension breakdown.
Students will record the areas of concern on a teacher selected worksheet
Students will locate and record on the worksheet evidence of understanding with 90% accuracy using the rereading strategy while locating information in context clues. (Your objective(s) should align with the knowledge and skills
