Developing Leaders at UPS

1.) Jovita Carranza demonstrated major skills in her career at UPS that made her a successful leader such as the fact that she “accepted all opportunities that presented themselves…” (Hughes, 2009 pg. 82). Experience in this case helped Jovita work her way to the top. Perception of experience affects the course of action one would take to become a good leader.
Furthermore, Carranza’s corporate achieves within the UPS company made her a success. In addition her drive, innovate approach and determination made her named Hispanic Business Magazines Women of the Year (Hughes, 2009 pg. 80).
Moreover, Carranza’s engagement with UPS employees helped her develop necessary teambuilding skills that furthered her career. She encouraged the company to be more courteous to their employee wants and needs. She was a great advocate of diversity, loyalty and responsibility for UPS. Carranza’s dedication to her job and her length of employment at UPS made her become familiar with the aspects of leadership, which in turn, made her, become a successful leader.
