Dodgeball is a game that gives kids chances to get their anger out on others. Children getting hit will never get better because they are not positive, and their are other activities that do a better job. There are many reasons on why dodgeball should be banned. Dodgeball is not an appropriate way to teach your children how to win. Dodgeball is an activity where you win by hitting another person.…
What is the best solution to a more successful future? This question is in the minds of many students and parents. In my opinion, I think that attending a public school is a better solution than attending a private school. This choice is affected greatly by the overall performance, capabilities of the student and the financial budget of the parent. There are advantages and disadvantages of both private and public schools.…
Lund 1 Aaron Lund Professor Dorn English 102 15 November XXXX Preserving Yellowstone’s Winter Wilderness Although a few recreational snowmobilers destroy fragile ecosystems and harass animals as they ride through the wilderness, most love and respect this country’s natural heritage. That’s why they brave the cold to explore what is left of wild America— including Yellowstone National Park. Unfortunately, however, even respectful snowmobilers are unwittingly damaging what they love. Because snowmobiles create both air and noise pollution and because their use in the park strains the already lean budget of the park service, recreational snowmobiles should be banned from Yellowstone National Park. In 2002, the Bush administration, under pressure from the snowmobile industry, proposed to reverse the National Park Service’s 2000 plan that would have phased out recreational snowmobile use in Yellowstone. In addition to reversing the earlier plan, the new policy would increase the number of snowmobiles allowed into the park per day. This policy is a step in the wrong direction. It may be hard to imagine that 1,100 snowmobiles a day (the proposed limit) could cause an air pollution problem in a park half the size of Connecticut, but in fact they can. The air pollution at park entrances has already become so bad in winter, according to environmental reporter Julie Cart, that fresh air has to be…
In conclusion, I think that dodgeball should not be banned from school.I hope you agree with my statement about dodgeball.Principles did do it recently in Elkton,Maryland because it’s the opposite of what their teaching. They did it by they removed it from the education…
Over time the game has evolved; nowadays dodgeball is a team game that is usually played, as i mentioned previously, in schools.…
Many states have already begun banning dodgeball in their physical education curriculums. As of now 9,137 schools have taken dodgeball out of their programs, and all the time new schools are considering it. The reason for this is that they think our country should not have any games with human targets. Officials believe these are the first signs of how the stronger people can pick on the weaker, and they also don’t want children competing with each other. On the contrary, dodgeball is a fun way to receive exercise. It is also not an everyday activity that children should look forward to. There is no reason for it to be taken out of gym programs. In fact, it should not be banned because it’s one of first times kids will be able to deal with their problems independently and to develop a competitive sense.…
Thesis: College athletes who are facing an injury during their season should be assisted by a consoler or a sport psychologist for the overall welfare of players (because they are at risk of a psychological breakdown.) A conflicting argument could be that athletes are always receiving special treatment and should be treated the same as any other college student. My main audience that I would be speaking to would be sport organizations, coaches, student athletes, and just students not participating in a sport. Ways to persuade my audience is by giving evidence of my argument and also by using my personal experience. I currently play baseball while attending college and have suffered…
The appeal to tradition, also called argumentum ad antiquitatem, is a commonplace fallacy that posits that an idea is correct simply on the basis that it is similar to a past or present tradition. We see it everywhere: in government, in schools, in music, in the workplace, and even in sports. The book Moneyball by Michael Lewis is largely about this idea, where Lewis argues that even if something has been done traditionally for many years and worked, the traditional way is not necessarily the most efficient way. In the case of Moneyball, this idea refers to the player scouting aspect of baseball. In my experience, I have found time and time again that Lewis is correct is his assertion: the traditional way is not always the best way. Blindly following tradition can lead to an incomplete understanding of a problem and, as an extension, an incomplete response as well.…
Football is a very fun sport that invalves tackling, pushing, and hitting. Most of the time football is fun just from playing ruff (tackling, pushing, hitting). Kids who play football are always to play games like bull in the ring and oklahoma drills which are very contact drills, and so is football. Now, coaches are thinking about having a limited number of hits in practice. But most players disagree with that statement because football is all about hitting. If they use limited number of hits, then they will take away the fun out of football.…
Even though some people say that gaming is just a hobby, competitive players play with just as much intensity as any other sport. a lot of pro gamers make more than enough to live on their own. Gaming is a very interesting subject when it is discussed as a sport. I think gaming should be a sport, because they get paid like any other sport…
Soccer started in December 1863 in Britain and they used to call "Football". Many people would ask that when the first soccer match was and who was the organization and who invented the game of soccer. There are many arguments that some people saying that soccer starts at England and some saying China was the country where soccer was started. In my opinion, I was always believing that soccer did start in England but after my research, I found out that actually China and Japan are the first countries where they played with the ball and from there get the idea. According to todayIfound.com. "The earliest known record of a Soccer-like sport was in 1004 B.C. in Japan. There are also many references to Soccer-like sports in 50 B.C. China, even being played between teams from China and Japan. The Romans also played several types of Football games, including some that resembled Soccer". But I still saying that soccer was invested in England because when China and Japan start soccer was totally different Idea than the real soccer game. I agree that they are the first who start to kick the…
Your sports argument is going to be heated one way or the other. I myself enjoy watching football but basketball is boring to me. Anyways your coworker and yourself have presented supporting evidence to show whose NBA legacy is better. Also, your rebuttal was very good and I agree with Britteny response towards your discussion. Overall, there is going be a different point of view and personal beliefs in sports but I’m glad there is no bad blood between you'll.…
Just wanted to send an update regarding our first basketball game of the season tomorrow, as I've had a few questions. Friday January 8th, the JV Boys, Varsity Boys, and Varsity Girls will be playing at the University of Liggett (Cook Road Campus). This year Liggett only has 1 girls Varsity team so our JV girls will NOT be traveling with us. Varsity girls will have a 3:00pm early dismissal. JV and Varsity Boys will be dismissed at the normal school hours. The Varsity girls will play first with a game start time of 4:00pm, followed by JV boys at 5:00, and Varsity boys at 6:00. Upon completion of the Varsity girls game, the bus will take the girls back to the school, arriving around 5:20. The JV and Varsity boys will return to…
As of November 20, 2014, same –sex marriage has been legalized in 35 out of 50 U.S. states. Same-sex marriage is a hot topic which the Supreme Court is considering to legalize. Many people say a homosexual person is a sinner. The question is do homosexual people choose his or her gender? They were born that way and they are happy with their lives. Homosexual people are nothing unlike heterosexual people. They are living, they are working, and they contribute to society. Proponents state that same-sex couples should have access to the same marriage benefits and public acknowledgment enjoyed by heterosexual couples and that prohibiting gay marriage is unconstitutional discrimination. On the other side, opponents argue that altering the traditional definition of marriage as between a man and a woman will further weaken a threatened institution and that legalizing gay marriage is a slippery downhill way that may lead to polygamous and interspecies marriages (gaymarriage.procon.org). All people in the world should understand the meaning of marriage, whether a same-sex marriage or a traditional marriage. For that reason, same-sex marriage should be considered as a legal marriage because it is an equal right for humankind and beneficial for society as well as preventing youth suicide.…
As a high school student, there is nothing worse than taking classes you know you will never use. But, in most cases the average student does not understand the impact of what we learn today on the rest of our lives. In today’s culture of vast travel and communication, the world we live in is getting seemingly smaller. This puts an added incentive on foreign language classes due to the additional doors they open up in the future.…
