Sports Argument Analysis
Your sports argument is going to be heated one way or the other. I myself enjoy watching football but basketball is boring to me. Anyways your coworker and yourself have presented supporting evidence to show whose NBA legacy is better. Also, your rebuttal was very good and I agree with Britteny response towards your discussion. Overall, there is going be a different point of view and personal beliefs in sports but I’m glad there is no bad blood between you'll.

The University of Connecticut’s Women’s Basketball team has become an icon for collegiate women’s basketball, and collegiate women’s sports in general. Since Geno Auriemma became head coach in 1994, the team has won eleven national championships, including the ones from the last four years. They won eleven in twenty-one years. The women’s basketball team has the record for most consecutive wins in college basketball, with ninety wins. They have won over twenty regular season championships. Still, the tickets to see this legendary team play cost less than tickets to see a pretty good, but not iconic, UCONN Men’s Basketball team play.…

The Dallas Cowboys finished last year season with a 12-4 record. Almost coming out of Training Camp without any major injuries to a key player’s defensive back Orlando Scandrick tore his ACL/MCL last week. Scandrick is out for the season. Even though losing Scandrick is tough I still believe the Cowboys will be fine because they have depth at the defensive back position, and upgrading the pass rush which the defensive backs won’t have to cover wide-receivers for so long. With the additions of Greg Hardy, Byron Jones, Randy Gregory, Corey White, DeMarcus Lawrence developing his body into becoming a force at the left end, defensive position, and Tyrone Crawford is looking to have a Pro Bowl Caliber year the Cowboys finally have depth at the defensive…

The appeal to tradition, also called argumentum ad antiquitatem, is a commonplace fallacy that posits that an idea is correct simply on the basis that it is similar to a past or present tradition. We see it everywhere: in government, in schools, in music, in the workplace, and even in sports. The book Moneyball by Michael Lewis is largely about this idea, where Lewis argues that even if something has been done traditionally for many years and worked, the traditional way is not necessarily the most efficient way. In the case of Moneyball, this idea refers to the player scouting aspect of baseball. In my experience, I have found time and time again that Lewis is correct is his assertion: the traditional way is not always the best way. Blindly following tradition can lead to an incomplete understanding of a problem and, as an extension, an incomplete response as well.…

Another counter argument is that paying these student-athletes would take away the title “college athlete” and makes them into a “professional athlete”. Although this does pose a great argument, the fact of the matter is that these student-athletes are not getting what they deserve as they devote the same amount of time a full-time worker applies to their job. In order to call them a “professional” is if they were making a full salary, these students do not need a full salary, they just need a little extra to help them get buy and to insure safety if they lose their scholarship. Ryan Riddle, former professional American Arena football defensive end who was drafted by the Oakland Raiders, discusses the difference between college and professional…

Here’s an easy question, who was the division one NCAA football national championship last year? If you said the Alabama Crimson Tide you are correct, sort of. Yes, Alabama did defeat the LSU Tigers 21-0 in the National Championship game, but some other teams could make a case for National Champions as well. According to the end of the year Associated Press Poll, Alabama was not an unanimous number one. LSU received one first place vote and Oklahoma State received 4 first place votes. Oklahoma State finished up 3rd in the final poll, after defeating Stanford in the Tostitos Fiesta bowl.
