Disadvantages Of College Basketball

There is no sound quite like that of a roaring crowd. The deafening noise creates an almost euphoric sensation for the avid sports fan. An argument can be made for any sports as to why it is the best, but in my opinion, college basketball takes the top spot. The reasons why are nearly endless, but there are a few that stick out. Smaller arenas, pace of the game, and overall competitiveness make college basketball the best sport worth watching. If one were to attend, let us say, a college football game, one would no doubt be entertained. Some football stadiums can house as many as 100,000 rowdy fans. The atmosphere is electric. The downside to this is that one is more than likely to be forced to view the game from a great distance. This makes keeping up with and maintaining interest more difficult. College basketball, on the other hand, does not have this problem. Most arenas house somewhere between 15,000 to 20,000 fans, with some housing under 10,000. One might think this smaller crowd would make for a less exciting atmosphere, but that is far from the case. There is a certain intimacy with smaller crowds packed into a closed arena that gives a college basketball game so much more excitement. There is rarely a bad seat in the house, so you are able to stay right in the game. Every play, every shot, everything can be seen at an up close
This is rarely ever said regarding college basketball. The up and down, fast-tempo style of play is much more engaging and exciting than most other sports. There is never a dull moment. A single game can swing momentum and give way to multiple lead changes in a matter of seconds. This style keeps you on the edge of your seat, making every play seemingly more important than the last.
