Differences Between The Outsiders Book And Movie
Bob, I heard you were trying to decide if you wanted to read the book Outsiders, or watch the movie. I have both read the book and watched the movie. Coming to a conclusion on which is better, I would say that the book is better by far. One reason I like the book more than the movie is that the movie leaves out some very important scenes out of the plot. For example, one very important part left out by the movie is the very beginning of the story, when the main character has something traumatising happen to him. I think that was a mistake not having it in the movie. I also didn’t enjoy the movie as well because you miss out on certain details you can only see through literature. One type of detail the movie never has is Pony’s thought

    Some actors acted and appeared entirely different in the movie than the book. The directing and special effects were okay in some scenes, but half-baked and lousy in others. Furthermore, the characters are developed far less in the film and many semi-important scenes in the novel are excluded in the film. Do not watch this movie unless you have read the novel (or even if you have read it).
