Why do people do such cruel things? The novel The Outsiders explained this when it was released in 1967. Then, the movie The Outsiders was released in 1983. They both show the hardships of a group of boys in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The movie was based off of the novel and they did a good job of recreating the novel, but there are still many differences that separates these two. The book and the movie are very similar, but there is some very large differences. The major plot points are the same in both versions of the Outsiders.
