Devil's Advocate: The Role Of Creativity In Our Intelligence Community
Joe. I can’t agree more on how creativity is important in our Intelligence Community. Creativity and imagination are the essential skills for intelligence professionals to have. According to the CIA website “Major intelligence failures are usually caused by failures of analysis, not failures of collection.” Analysts able to think from different perspective. There are several techniques to see the alternatives such as Thinking Backwards, Crystal Ball, Role playing and Devil’s Advocate. In my opinion, Devil’s Advocate dare most effective method because it gives perspective of how our enemies are thinking.
