Reflection on Mediamorphosis

Mediamorphosis is quite amazing. It shows that we humans are a rapidly improving species, every year advancing to technological perfection in order to suit the needs of the world. Innovators all around are developing new technology, and implementing them in various ways. This technology used to seem like impossible witchcraft back in the old days, but now, it is becoming a fast approaching reality.

Learning more about the subject, however, I have discovered that all of this amazing technology has been in the works for a long time. Getting consumers, and eventually, society to accept and adopt these new high tech things takes much more innovation and marketing than I initially thought. Then there is also the issue of making such complex products which take years of funding and development affordable to the public. There is also the issue of following up on these products, should they become successful, in order to meet the standards and expectations of all of these people who don’t really care about how much effort you are putting into all of this. It’s madness, but that’s reality. As amazing as Mediamorphosis is, it’s one hell of a crazy rollercoaster ride.

I suppose you could compare Mediamorphosis to the theory of evolution. It’s all about adapting in order to survive. Only this time, it’s for technology. Products need to adapt to the needs of society in order to survive. If a product, say, a cellphone, is highly successful at one point in time. Society changes its needs, and while other no-name cellphone companies adapt to that need, but said successful cellphone sticks to its guns rather than adapt to the change. It surely dies out and becomes extinct.

The ‘live or die’ nature of Mediamorphosis makes it important for creators and innovators of new technology to not just work on their product’s tech,

    | Media convergence in regards to technology, to me, means that there is an interlocking of all technologies. Media now can reach its audience on different platforms; television, Internet, and mobile devices. Media convergence makes it easier for everyone to gain access to important information and news headlines. If you do not have a television but have a smartphone, you can still keep up with current events by surfing the web on your mobile device. Technology is constantly changing. In order to keep up you have to be able to evolve with technology and learn how to use the new devices. Many older people are not comfortable with new technology and internet payments and find it difficult to keep up. When new technology emerges to the scene and catches on the older technology often becomes obsolete. Radio used to be the way people received there information, when the television was invented, it allowed its audience to see and hear what was being broadcasted. Now radio are hardly ever listened to, because we have television, computers, and mobile devices. Some people are just not willing to learn the new technology because they find it is easier to stick with what they know. Many people still don’t have internet access in their homes and still use a landline phone, people like this will have to adjust to catch up with the rest of society and that may be hard for them. The internet has changed the way we shop, communicate and read. We can buy basically anything we want without leaving the house. There is no longer a need to go to a bookstore, there are now E-books.…

I believe media convergence with regard to technology is when some forms of media combine together. A perfect example is the internet and telephones we have our now smart phones, or the classic newspaper and television gives us the news, now even combining television and radio whether you listen to the news on the radio or listen to music both are now on the television. These forms of technology among others have affected everyday life by making it so much easier to access everything, convenience is the best way to describe this. When we just had newspapers we had to read to get the news whereas now you turn on the television and have the news read to you while you carry on with your day. When we needed to use the internet to check our e-mail or to look something up we had to go home on get on the computer, but now with smartphones you can access your e-mail where ever you are. Finally with the convergence of radio and television you get such things as the news, MTV, or just the plain music channel where its 24 hours of straight music by genre. If you have noticed all of my examples show how convenient things become when converging forms of media, by converging media it makes life easier for people who are on the go and have busy tight schedules.…

Victor Frankenstein, a man who after only a couple of years of study managed to crack a mystery none before him had succeeded at doing, providing life to dead tissue. Not only did this allow for dead body parts to be given life, Frankenstein was able to imbue both life and consciousness to a golem of his creation. This is a discovery that even in the 21st century would be a breakthrough, in the 19th it was simply magic. However this miraculous experiment resulted in unprecedented disaster for Frankenstein, much of which could have been avoided had it been handled by a man with the scientific foresight to prepare for the long term repercussions of giving life to an extremely hideous creature of your manufacture.…

We see our world transformed through it. Media is our future. Media is our technology. Without it noting would be possible. Media is, and will remain the biggest communication ever. The reason why is because that is media communication. Communication is our way of keeping in contact. I believe that media has changed us a lot. Throughout the three articles this is mentioned through advertising, culture, and Disney. One of the articles mentioned how men just see women as sex. He compares this to how media has impacted our way of thinking, and the way we view things because of…

In the 20th century mass media was considered to be eight categories: books, newspapers, magazines, recordings, radio, movies, television and the internet. When I think of mass media the internet and cell phones come to mind. Cell phones have evolved since the 21st century. They blew up by giving people the access to the internet on cell phones. There is not anything people cannot do on their cell phones. Television has gone from having no color to color and the remote attached to cordless remotes. They are also 3D and the picture is much clearer and movies have the same developments. Internet has had and is still the number one media that has developed or evolved over the last century. When I talk to my grandparents they tell me how times are so different and advanced. They think that it is great but also scary at times. My grandparents cannot begin to imagine what the media will be like when they pass away. The internet will always be renewed and updated. There will be better, newer, and faster ways to learn. Mankind will never stop evolving.…
