Delta-Personal Narrative
“I still don’t think this is a such good idea,” Delta mumbles to Walker as they wait outside for Eleanor. Delta and Walker have been given the task of packing up the car while Logan speaks with Elpis. She wishes that she had the power to hear their conversation because Logan has a sad look upon his face whereas Elpis portrays a surprised one. There are just about a million things they could be talking about. “Just put place a little trust in him, Delta. There has to be an adequate reason that we’re bringing her along,” Walker responds, slamming the trunk shut. Delta shakes her head, ready to retort a response, when Eleanor walks out of the house. She looks much more put together than before, her blond hair in a neat braid and not a trace of the tear that were there before. But there’s still a haunting looking behind her eyes, one of fear and, under that, frustration. She strides down the stairs, towards the car. “Eleanor,” Logan calls out. “Why don’t you take the passenger seat,” he suggests. She answers with a nod and readjusts the bag strap that sits slug over her shoulder. Delta wonders what Logan’s playing at; he never does anything unless it benefits him in the end. He nods at Walker and takes the driver seat. Delta and Walker …show more content…
Thankfully, it's always only the first night. But it makes places like this even worse, places that already make you feel as though you’re being watched. She thinks over the day's events to pass the time, realizing what people say about road trips are correct. They’re amazing and something that everyone should do at least once. There were times that Eleanor would rather poke out her eyes than sit there another minute, but those are necessary. They make the best moments seem even better. Eleanor is lulled to sleep with the thought that tomorrow will be just as

“Well..” He said as if the alcohol had no effect on him whatsoever, “my family has a long history in Whale Cove, my great-great-great grandmother was born here and raised her entire family here, I lived here as a kid… But then I moved.” his voice trailed off as the path led them straight into the dark depths of the white woods, of course, Evelyn didn’t even notice. “Wha-wait a minute… Now, I’ve lived here my whole life and… I don’t remember you.…

Lyn is pushing her out of the car in front of a drug rehabilitation center. Delta walks inside with her wetsuit still damp, interrupting a meeting in progress. Slowly turning around in a circle she greets the gawking audience and tells them that her name is Delta. Suddenly the group is urging Delta to speak about her challenges with addiction. Her nose continues to bleed. She openly reveals to her audience how a few years earlier she had accidentally killed her mother and father in a car accident, on their way to this very rehab center. In a panic, after finding out where she was going, she had grabbed the steering wheel and caused the car to drive off the road, plummeting into the ocean. The group politely applauds at the story’s conclusion and thanks her for her honesty, but the Head Counselor pulls her aside and reminds Delta that her payment for treatment is long overdue. Delta asks for another extension and is given until the end of the week. Walking out of the meeting, Delta suddenly becomes dizzy again and…

A tarnished sword sat in my grandparents' house for 50 years. No one knew where it came from. No one knew why it was there. Three years ago, I spotted this sword propped up against the fireplace. I noticed an inscription in the brass and leather scabbard with a name, Ephraim F. Bauder, in cursive script. This is the story of that sword.…

Logan’s dad took his death the worst out of the family. He did not show any emotion and had it all bottled up inside of him. As the family grieved that Logan was gone his dad just was confused to be sad or upset with the fact he is gone and he took his car in the first place. Logan got one visit and he chose his dad because he was the person to most deny that Herb was abusing Amy. He tried to get through to his dad, but it didn’t work until hours later when he went on a drive to cool down, let his emotions out, and think about what happened. At the end Amy ended up being the key to help Logan’s dad take in that fact that he is dead. Logan’s dad was extremely upset that Herb could sneak around the family and hurt his only daughter. Because Amy never told her family about Herb’s abuse and Logan’s dad never took in his death I predict that everyone will now be at peace with…

Eleanor Vance the main protagonist in the story is a socially repressed woman who spent eleven years of her life taking care of her ill mother, sacrificing much of her youth and personal happiness and now lives a life of confinement with her sister. The invitation to Hill House provides a perfect chance for Eleanor to escape to freedom and a life of her own. All this background information…

This helps Eleanor acknowledge the poor trust between the two, Eleanor and Tina. The last quote which determines the trust between both characters is said by Eleanor and Tina. It is being said to understand that the relationship between Eleanor and Tina can still bond. At the time, Eleanor has ran away from her home and then notices Tina on the streets of their neighbourhood. For instance, “ ‘What’s wrong with you anyway?’ Tina asked. ‘Nothing.’ A pair of headlights stopped at the end of the block, Eleanor put her arm over her head. ‘Come on,’ Tina said in a voice Eleanor had never heard before― concerned. ‘You just need to stay out of his way until he cools off ’ Eleanor followed Tina up the driveway, crouching to get into the hazy, dark garage.”(282). Eleanor acknowledges that she can still trust Tina even though what happened between the two. Although, the language used by Tina was penurious to Eleanor, Tina is attempting to assist Eleanor in the quote. Through the examples, it is apparent that Tina was very unpleasant at the beginning of the novel however Tina becomes more friendly near the end of the novel but their trust is still…

“Did Aubrie ever tell you how her mother died, or is believed to have died.” Parker shakes his head ‘no’ in response. “When Aubrie was four years old, her and her mother were asleep in that room.” He points at the room where Aubrie is sleeping. “All I know is that I heard her mother screaming, and then my daughter was gone by the time I broke the door down. But the reason I am telling you to keep her safe is because her mother wasn’t the only one to go missing. All that was left was bloody footprints and an open window. Even before that, her mother disappeared in a similar way. It is very unusual, and no one has still figured out what is happening. It took me about ten minutes to convince her that I wasn’t there to harm her. She said she had been captured and sent to a camp but had managed to slip away last night. We had both stumbled into the cave by dumb luck—or, maybe, fate. I explained to her that if we waited until night, we could sneak back to the base, and maybe she could start fresh in America. She agreed; anything was better than her life here.…
