Definition Essay #2
Every student fantasizes how they want their school to be when they first start. By fantasizing I mean daydreaming or going into lala land. They also think it’s going to be fun and every teacher should be nice. An ideal college to me is a perfect place that fits my needs. My vision of college was nice buildings and furniture, nice weather, earlier classes, no rules. Through experience I have learned that all those things do not make a good college. My ideal college would be challenging, so that the students could advance their knowledge in the area they want to study for.
There are some parts of ASU housing that could use to be rebuilt. I’m not saying that the buildings look bad or that it’s a bad place to be, but some of our dorms can look better than how they are looking now. The furniture in the rooms is nice, but some are not even soft. Some have hard cushions, and some pieces do not match the room. I think if we replace these things we can have lovelier living spaces.
I would rather have my ideal college be somewhere warm, and closer to a beach. I feel Albany is a very nice place to visit during the summer time because the weather feels warm but during the winter the weather is so misconceiving. I imagine running on the beach like in the movies with a little twist though. The twist would be that I am closer to school so I can have fun and learn at the same time. Some days you may walk outside and the sun is shining and warm, other days the temperature has drop and the wind is blowing harder.
There is a positive and negative side to having a school next to the beach. When it’s warmer, i would be able to wear shorts, t-shirts and flip flops. The positive thing about wearing Flip flops would be that my feet would not sweat because I don’t have to wear socks and shoes. Another advantage about the beach would be that you can just go and sit on the beach so you can study
