I would estimate one person using a chiseling technique would take 8 to 10 days. For myself using rotating and chisel pneumatic power tool about 1/3 the time. Below the stela a plaque that describes the limestone as coming from the southern Mayan lowlands once part of a large archaeological setting built in tribute to Maya political leaders and gods.
