To Whom It May Concern:

With reference to your advertisement in the New York Times newspaper dated 1st of November, I would like to apply for the position of superhero in New York city.

During the past seven years, my experience has been concentrated in the human protection industry within the European Central Bank. I was responsible for noticing possible dangers and eliminating the threats of employees of ECB. This experience has allowed me to develop skills such as paying attention to details, courage and patience which are super beneficial in the superhero world.

While working as secret government detective of Italy my biggest achievement was saving the Prime Minister S. Berlusconi from the criminal group’s attempt to assassinate him. I was awarded with gold medal from the government. I appreciate greatly that my hard work and effort were evaluated. This job taught me to be responsible and self confident at my work. I consider these skills as irreplaceable for every superhero.

Therefore, all the above mentioned details shows that I have an idea of the commitment and enthusiasm that a superhero needs to have. I am really motivated to gain new experience in different working environment, as well as to use my previously earned skills.

I have enclosed my resume with all contact information for your review. I should be very pleased to come for an interview at any time convenient to you. Thank you for giving me your valuable time and considering my candidacy.

Yours faithfully,
Xena Superwoman

Heroes are not just in comics and movies; these heroes don’t wear masks or capes. But these heroes still seem to have super powers that somehow capture our hearts and amaze us with their abilities. They are the ones we look up to, the ones who make an impact in our lives, and the ones who seem to make everything better to save the day. My grandfather, Gerald Simoneaux is my hero because he taught me that I could conquer anything if I set my mind to it. He not only inspired me to be myself but to be proud of who I am.…

“It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no its Superman!” For decades comic book characters such as Superman, The Incredible Hulk, Batman, and Wonder Woman have captured the imaginations of American children and adults alike. “Superheroes,” they have been coined. But these figures only exist in our imaginations. Batman is not really there to save us from villains such as the Joker and the Riddler. Because these heroes are fictional, we are left without real life heroes… or are we? The answer is clearly no. Heroes are all around us. They can be courageous, intelligent, strong or daring, but heroes to me are selfless and brave.…

In 1933, Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel met for the very first time. They both enjoyed comic books very much. Siegel came up the idea of “strongman” and then Shuster drew him with a cape and red tights. A year later they named their “strongman” Superman. The heroes of today are not that different than the heroes of the ancient world. They have goals to achieve, obstacles to overcome, and quests to pursue. Their existence is necessary to inspire hope in generations of those struggling to survive and to find meaning in their lives. It could be said that our admiration and devotion to heroes is because we seek something that we can aspire to, whether it be to improve ourselves, to cope with our flaws, or overcome obstacles and succeed. Two examples of great role models, both past and present, for learning how to overcome obstacles and succeed are: Gilgamesh and Superman. During their obstacle-filled journeys of achieving goals, both heroes experience failure and success. In addition, both heroes receive critical help along the way.…
