Country is comparable to pop in this aspect as well. A vast majority of country artists are attractive, and because of this, it does not matter how well they can actually sing. Producers edit and alter the voices, making it more acceptable for radio. In most cases with alternative artists, the opposite situation occurs. Taking a look at them, not all can be considered entirely attractive by common society. This makes their work more sincere, and it is one of the main reasons I love alternative music.
