Contact Precaution Reflective Report

This week in clinical I was assigned a patient with contact precaution. I had never taken care of a patient who was on contact precaution, so I became very terrified. I didn’t know what to expect. I walked into the room wearing my PPE, shaking and expecting for the patient to be miserable because they are in a room alone and everyone that meets them has to wear that yellow gown. To my surprise, the patient was opposite of what I was thinking. The patient’s positive attitude, small stories, and funny personality greatly helped in reducing my trepidations of working first time with contact precaution patient.
