Have you ever been asked, would you let your son play football?; I have. Although football may have consequences such as concussions, it also has many upsides to it. I would let my son play football, because he can stay out of trouble, stay in shape, and also do good in school. He can also learn respect, discipline, and become responsible. I read online that, “Kids who do sports do better in school” (Amir Khan). From personal experience, when I entered high school and played sports the coaches told me in order to play for the team I had to keep my grades up. My son would keep his grades up not just because he has to but also to play a sport he loves. Keeping his grades up and being good in football may

With reading the article “ Would I let my son play Football”,I came to a consensus that I would let my kid play football. “ How can I bash a game that produced so many friendships, paid for my education, and helped me become comfortable financially” .( Fujita 3). I agree with this article’s statement because football has helped people pay for college and help build their respective careers. Football has also made many people financially stable after playing in college and moving on to the NFL. “Football isn’t for everyone Scott ...but it was definitely for me”. (5). With Football not being for everyone, it is still made for some people, and if my son/ daughter wanted to play football then it would be made for them. The people that are made…

Football, like every sport has its risks, but so the players should be able to make their own decisions when it comes to whether or not they play. To most people football is just a game where people throw a ball and tackle each other, but to certain families and people it is more than just a game. It is a way of a life and there is more to risk out on that field than just winning or losing. There are repercussions if we were to cut out the game, football players and others gain from the game, and it brings people and communities together in unimaginable ways.…

After reading the article “Would I Let My Son Play Football?” by Scott Fujita, I would definitely let my child play the sport ,despite the fact that the sport has many negative side effects. What is really hypocritical to me is when Scott states “No.” (Fujita 2), when he was asked if he would let his son play football. I disagree with what he said because he played football his whole life. How is it possible that he loves the sport, but would not allow his child to play? One quote I do agree with is when he said “..now I actually get paid to talk about football on television. Imagine the hypocrisy”(Fujita 4). I agree with the quote because it is ironic to me how he was an NFL player and loved the sport, but is now talking down on it and realises…

While football is fun, every good thing comes with a consequence. The age for when playing football should be raised to twelve because before twelve, the brain is still developing, players who have played before the age of twelve can have a chance of behavioral issues, and playing before the age of twelve gives a higher risk of CTA.…

One reason high school sports aren’t beneficial is because they create a lot of pressure. According to the video “Do Athletes Face Unnecessary Parent Pressure?” by KCRA, sports are sometimes the only way students can get into a good college and be able afford it. This puts a lot of pressure on the athletes to perform at their best 100% of the time. Experts say that your child's entire team will suffer if the parents are pressuring their kids (KCRA.com, “Do Athletes Face Unnecessary Parent Pressure?” ). This fact is important because it proves, when parents put pressure on their children it does not benefit them, in fact it is actually setting them up for life in an unhealthy way.
