Connecting the Dots
My Comprehensive Life Plan
Regis Scoubart

The Trip
Life is a journey that I am on with God, at this point in my journey what matters to me the

most is being a great dad to my two kids, Nina and Seth. Love God and love others, in my words

and actions is my personal mission statement. My Life plan will be focused on the goal of

displaying love towards my daughter and son in tangible and noticeable ways over the next 1 to 4

years. The reason I have chosen 1 and 4 years is that Nina (my daughter), is a senior in high

school and will be graduating in 2014. Seth (my son) is 15 years old and is a freshman and will

be graduating in 2017.

Connecting the Dots "In life it's not easy to connect the dots looking forward, you have to connect the dots

looking back." Steve Jobs said this in his commencement speech to the 2005 Stanford graduating

class. This man has been one of the most successful and innovating men of the last 20 years in

the field of technology. He created Pixar Animations which created the first full length computer

animated movie Toy Story. The iPod and iPhone which were his creations and have set the

standard for the cell phone industry for many years. I would say that this man was successful and

achieved his goals. What is most interesting to me about this man was that at times he had no

particular goal in mind, other than finding out what he loved to do and doing it well. At this point in my life that is me. 25 years ago I had very clear goals and dreams; become a

Firefighter ( I became a Registered Nurse instead), get married to Kathy ( who has now been my

beautiful wife for 20 years), be involved with missionary work ( we went with Youth With A

Mission to Russia and also have been to Mexico many times, Europe and

Steve Jobs has been labeled a visionary by many, and rightfully so. Though he may not be the tech celebrity that he once was, nor is his name any longer so strongly associated with the basic, commonplace components of software and hardware design that he helped to pioneer and that computer users the world over take for granted, the charismatic, passionately counterculture chief executive officer of Apple Computer was once the most important individual in Silicon Valley and even today dictates the trends and, some would say, overall health of the industry, continuing to drive innovation.…

One well matched goal in my life was the goal to go back to school and get degree before I reached fifty years old. That has been a long time goal of mine and in 10 more days I can start the countdown, I have almost made it through my first year successfully, and for that I am truly proud of myself. I have always said that when I get my children through college it would be my turn. My daughter is a Registered Nurse at a major hospital here in Texas and my son got very close to finishing but he quit before he was completely finished he only needs a half of a semester to finish up.…
