INTRODUCTION: In this assignment we have conducted interviews of two managers, of “Jeans Company Pvt Ltd”, at different hierarchical levels. We have also discussed different aspects and differences of working at different hierarchical levels.
Name: Shahid Khan (Manager A)
Designation: Senior Manager Operations
a. Hierarchical Level:
According to this company’s hierarchy he falls in the category of first-line manager.
b. Major responsibilities/roles of the manager:
Being head of the operations he has a varied role with a hand in virtually every aspect of business, and ensuring that it all runs smoothly with best possible working environment and processes. The Major responsibilities are as under:
Ensuring financial targets and other agreed targets are met in all departments
Reviewing working practices to ascertain if it is successful and if not, devise an alternative
Making sure that all social compliance requirements are met
Ensuring safety regulations are followed
Keeping employees motivated and organizing appropriate training
Investigating customer satisfaction and reporting any issues
Working with department heads and senior management to get the best performance from staff
Driving the business to increase profits
Working with legal departments on any matters that occur
Reviewing and approving equipment needs
Some of the Mintzberg’s roles played by the manager are:
Leader
Monitor
Negotiator
c. Skills that manager exercise on the job to fulfill his/her responsibilities
Handling the machinery and other equipments
Vigilance
Keeping in mind and implementation of what is learnt during education
Patience and lots of patience

Responsibility
According to the skills needed at different management level he has technical and human skills.
d. Best and worst part of the job according to his/her perception
Best: Too much powers/authority
Worst: Too much responsibility and high tension job

    Based on the information given I see this as an act of terrorism because of where the explosion went off. Any explosion on a military base cannot be defined as a terrorist attack versus just an attack. In this case attacking the community center means you are looking at killing not just members of the U.S. military but also the families that reside there.
