Computer-mediated communication (CMC) is becoming more heavily used in today's work environment and the rate of workplace utilization is quickly accelerating. In many cases, CMC makes interactions between co-workers quicker, more efficient, and more convenient. Video calls can save a lot of time and money when face-to-face communication is necessary. Email can give us an efficient and simple means to communicate that is also very convenient for both parties when it comes to information that isn’t overly time restrictive. Instant messaging programs are often used between co-workers on their personal computers or phones to quickly and conveniently communicate with each other.
