Learning Plan 2
LP2 Assignment: Save Screenshots

Directions
The assignment for Learning Plan 2 involves various screenshots. You will use an application called WordPad and you will also use Print Screen and/or the Snipping Tool depending on the version of the operating system you have installed on your computer. (The Snipping Tool is an application included in Windows 7 / Windows Vista, Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate Editions.)
1. Open the WordPad application and write an explanation of the screenshot functions explaining how to use Print Screen and/or the Snipping Tool. (To launch WordPad, from the Start menu, Select All Programs, then select the Accessories folder, then WordPad.).
2. Open the SaveAs dialog box to save the file as “screenshot.rtf” but before you click the OK button to actually save the file; perform a screenshot of the SaveAs dialog window using the PrintScrn key or Snipping Tool.
3. Paste the Print Screen image (in the clipboard) into your WordPad document.
4. Submit the WordPad document that contains the explanation and the screenshots to your instructor.
NOTE: When you use the Print Scrn key, you will have no indication of what you are copying to the clipboard. You can check by simply pasting it into another document such as WordPad, Paint, or even, Word. Notepad is a text only application and you cannot paste a screenshot into Notepad. Remember, if you are using the Print Scrn key: Print Scrn key captures your entire screen; Alt + Print Scrn keys captures only the current active window.

5. Submit this assignment to your instructor using the dropbox labeled “Assignment 2: Save Screenshots.” This assignment is worth 95 points and will be graded according to the following scoring guide:

The article states that although Microsoft Word® is not a desktop publishing program- like Adobe Photoshop®- one can still to combine text and graphics easily- it can, however, be used in a pinch or instead of purchasing a costly program. (Nott, 2008) By creating, a “canvas,” one has several options available on what type of content can be inserted; for example, one can include bitmapped images like a screenshot, create various drawing that can be moved individually, and insert files rather than paste them. In addition to these uses, the main use of creating a canvas in Word documents is for annotating a picture with a callout. This is an option I think most businesses or students will be using for their documents.…
