There are several things that I do everyday to ensure the saftey of my classroom. I always maintain an accurate child supervision record and do my classroom counts every 30 minutes, or more often when necessary, to make sure that my head count matches the actual number of children in my classroom. The way the classroom is set up also helps ensure the safty of the children. Our stations are set up to reduse open floor space and the opportunity to run freely indoors. I have also protected any sharp table or cabinet corners to prevent an injury if a child falls. I keep my emergency routes posted and easily visible from any where in the room and my emergency contacts are always with my CSR's and easily accessible. At the end of each day I clean and sanitize my classroom and remove any broken toys that could cause an injury to a child.…

Another way in applying my results can be in how I evaluate arguments. For example, adapting to change or coping with pressure are great competencies in which can help me evaluating arguments. To establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment I model safety practices and healthy routines in an environment that supports development and growth in these areas. My goal is to provide a clean healthy environment that meets each child’s physical needs. Making sure the classroom and playground are clean and safe at all times reduces the number of injuries of children while they are in my care. One of the ways I do this is by supervising children at all times. Making sure all outlets are covered so children can’t access them. I make sure inside as well as outside there is nothing children can harm themselves on such as sharp objects or small items they can choke on. I ensure that all chemicals and cleaning supplies are put away out of the reach of children or stored in locked cabinets. To establish and maintain a healthy environment is to prevent the spread of germs and promote healthy eating habits. Germs can be easily spread among the age group of children. One of the ways I promote a healthy environment is hand washing. I wash my hands and wear gloves before and after handling food, helping with toileting, changing diapers and cleaning noses. I have the children wash their hands during similar times and ensure that they do it properly. Cleaning and sanitizing play areas daily and mouthed toys are immediately removed from the play area and sanitized at the end of the day.…

The first thing required to design and construct a competency based assessment centre is to decide upon the competencies to be observed. (Shippmann et al, 2000) refers to these competencies as the dimensions for assessment and these are usually identified through job analysis. (Thornton, 1992) states that the purpose of assessment centres is to assess performance or behaviour based competencies through the use of simulations and exercises. The job analysis identifies the competencies of the job which allows the designer to shape the exercises to the context of the job. (Kudisch et al. 1999). (Spychalski, 1997) found that 93% of assessment centres undertaken job analysis before the design of the exercises and centre itself. (Kudisch et al. 1999). Found that the more commonly used exercises can be leaderless group discussions, oral presentations to a group of people, fact finding games,…

For one to truly become ‘The Chief’, a strong foundation of values and morals is essential. This must be evident both on and off duty. The Chief Petty Officer Academy (CPOA) provided me with a clear vision of leadership, understanding that we cannot achieve success without enduring failure. At the CPOA, there were several defining moments where this was never more clear. The classes that had the most profound effect on me were the Intermediate Ropes Course, Goals and Values, and the Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) 360 Survey results review.…

Understanding my personal competencies will help me improve my critical thinking skills by not making quick decisions, analyze and think about what I do before I do it, and striving to see improvement in my work and coping with pressure. Making quick decisions has always been a problem I had. Instead of thinking about a situation and the effects it can have on me and others I always just jump right into a quick decision. The career competencies survey made me realize I need to think about others in my decisions making, and work as a team to come up with best solution. Doing this will take the pressure off of me worrying about the outcome of my decision. Since taking the survey has showed me that I know how to follow directions and can adapt to change, Upholds ethic, and values. I am organized with planning and activities working with a group and using critical thinking skills should come with ease. Critical thinking can help with working with others on projects, meeting deadlines and coping with pressure from others. Everyone should use critical thinking skills in any situation to avoid misunderstandings and arguments. In the business world critical thinking is very important you don’t want to offend anyone or lose a deal because you didn’t ask the right question or make the right decision. Taking the survey will help me separate facts, and think about outcomes. In doing this my work can be accurate and fair. If I stick to these values I will be able to evaluate a problem or argument before it happens. In an argument I can get the facts, analyze the situation and take the fair approach. I do realize everyone is not going to like the outcome of my decision but knowing what my competencies are will make me feel that I evaluated the situation and made the best decision for the company.…

I think sometimes when it comes to identify a particular essay or a paper that we wrote in previous assignments we will most of time find that they all had their own obstacles and difficulty’s in the process of writing them. It seems that when we finish with an assignment we think that that might have been the hardest paper we had to write about, but then comes other challenge or a paper and then we think that the old one was easy and doable. For example this semester we had to deal with these types of essays that had their challenges: Brief Literacy narrative, Commentary, Dual perspectives research, and the researched argument paper. The most essay or assignment that I had the most difficulty with is the commentary essay. Since it was commentary and I could write about the topic that I wanted and not having to do any Reacher on it, I felt comfortable and was not focused on the important steps of the writing process like; the organizing, formatting, run-ons, the word choice and so on. I had trouble with punctuation, the commas going inside the quotes in the MLA formatting, and couple of run-ons here and there, and last…
