Compare And Contrast Informatics And Clinical Informatics
Informatics and clinical informatics have similarities and differences. There are clinical informatics within of my organization. My nurse manager can also use data management to help improve patient care on the unit. President Bush mandated the implementation of the electronic health record (EHR) in 2014 for a variety of different reasons. Informatics and clinical informatics are similar and different. Informatics is the way that someone processes data with the intent of storing it somewhere. Clinical informatics is the use of storing information to better help the patients that we are helping. The similarities between both of these is that they both deal with data collection and storing information somewhere. Informatics applies to a …show more content…
The first way is to promote the use of the iPad for the teaching for the newborns parents. Nursing leaders should promote compliance with the new system to help increase patient satisfaction (Haber, 2014). This can tremendously help with teaching. Giving the patients the website and the password can help them when they have questions whenever they go home or even when they are still here and need some reinforcement on certain topics. Having the nurses monitor the patients whenever they do this, and when they are finished nurses within the unit should ask the parents if the teaching was effective. This should be told to the manager of the unit so they can use the data and make sure that their are positive results with the system. The nursing manager should track the progression of the positive or negative results to increase patient care within the units. Another example of how data management could be used to help improve patient care would be that our nursing manager should keep track of our patient satisfaction with the staff and the care that they are receiving. This can tremendously help out with patient care by having their input and if something was bothering them, they should be able to speak freely about it. If there were an altercation between a nurse and a patient, the nursing manager should keep track of the negative outcomes and what we can do to increase patient satisfaction.
