CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION Community engagement refers to the process by which community benefit organizations and individuals build ongoing, permanent relationships for the purpose of applying a collective vision for the benefit of a community.   Encourages us to simultaneously pursue our interests, meet our educational goals and make a difference in our community Provides us with a foundation of analytical, reflective, interpersonal, and leadership skills through real-world experience Our KCT.BS joined with the Imayam Social Welfare Board to make the students take part in the community engagement project as a part of the academics. There were almost six projects which focused on developing the community in various aspects. The projects are… PROJECTS Energy Conservation Awareness MOTIVES To educate the public about the importance of CFL bulbs to conserve energy for our future To initiate more crèche in rural area to provide primary education to the children and help working women To find the destitute children and provide them under the homes to have care and affection on them To find children in the schools who belong to the lower segment and provide them additional education To educate women in the rural area about importance of employment and join them in ITC agarpathi unit To create a awareness about TB to the public and undergo a survey to identify TB affected people
