I also want to be a Barrett Community Assistant because of Kylie Kilian and James Orr (the CA’s of Agave 1), who have helped me transition into the collegiate environment. Maintaining a safe environment involves a series of inter-twined activities which include monitoring and reporting the activities of the individuals in care on a day-to-day base. Considering that the activities are carried out by multiple individuals in different placements within the United Kingdom, with different attitudes and operation patterns, the need for regulation to foster uniformity and consistency within all organisations has not been ignored. Our particular model is aimed at providing a “personal centred approach. This provides the client with a sense of social inclusion, empowerment and independence in making their own choices and decisions. This essay illustrates my own personal framework to practice through the use of a case example. It stresses the importance of young people receiving a full assessment to allow understanding of a young person’s behaviours and the importance of evidence based practice in addressing their needs. It identifies how other dynamics such as the power of organisational culture can impact on the care a young person receives. It stresses the difficulty of ensuring a balance between adhering to evidence based practice and statutory regulations against ensuring a homely normal environment and being open to adaptation. Although it promotes evidence based practices it identified the importance of being able to adapt to suit the needs of the young person. The concepts of inclusion, consultation, communication and the key-working relationship all proved vital in every young person’s progress. The importance of being aware that rehabilitation is a long process that involves taking things at the young person’s pace is promoted in this essay. Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs) is one of the fastest-growing residential settings for older adults in the US. They provide diverse settings and care alternatives to adults. The general population prefers to receive care in an assisted living facility rather than a nursing home by a six to one margin. The increasing preference for assisted living facilities is caused by the different social stigma it has compared to other long-term care facilities (Bowblis, 2012, p. 238). Assisted living residents have a lower level of need and are regulated at the state level, making them more unique across the nation, however that can lead to inconsistent, inferiority care.…

The second ideal of Community Oriented Social Work I will discuss begins at the local level. In other words, in order to foster an understanding of the clients' living environment, social workers should expose themselves to the neighborhoods the clients' live in (Mantle & Backwith, 2008). This could build rapport with the client. During my Bachelors of Social Work program, I learned that self disclosure (if used appropriately) can be a powerful tool that is used to build trust with a client. Milwaukee social workers should expose themselves to the harsh urban environments of minority target populations. This will truly allow these social workers to understand what kinds of social/environmental conditions the minority target populations are…
