Comcast Vs. Energizer: Company Analysis
Stakeholders are individuals and or groups in and organization “who are depending on the firm in order to achieve their personal goals and on whom the firm is depending for its existence” (Werther & Chandler, 2014). The group that I chose to talk about in this paper is Competitors and this is a large group that includes many businesses. Competitors are an organization or country that is engaged in commercial or economic competition with others. Some real-life companies that are competitors are Coke vs. Pepsi, Comcast vs. Verizon, Red bull vs. Monster, the more famous McDonald’s vs. Burger King, CVS vs. Walgreens, UPS vs. FedEx, Duracell vs. Energizer, Hasbro vs. Mattel, Dunkin’ Donuts vs. Starbucks, Canon vs. Nikon , Netflix vs. Amazon and plenty of others.

The first real-life company competitors that I will take a look at are Coke vs. Pepsi. They are both large corporations that distribute soda of different flavors. Their CSR is that they are “competing to produce the first soda bottle to be made without plastic and using 100% plant materials” (Chandler, 2012). It is a fight to the finish in this case. “Coke delivered the latest volley on Thursday, saying it plans to work with three companies that are developing competing technologies to make plastic from plants” (Neuman, 2011). Energizer. Back in 1996 both companies were competing to be No. 2 in a 1.8 billion dollar market. And Energizer took the lead by “introducing the category’s first on-battery tester” (Pruzan, 1996). “Duracell’s thermal “window” readout displays the remaining amount of energy; Energizer indicates only that the battery is still “good” until its gone bad” (Pruzan, 1996). This makes Duracell the better contender since it is more high tech than Energizers battery. Also as Energizer puts out three new battery sizes and one to follow in 1997 Duracell only put out

    Stakeholders can be defined as all entities that are impacted through a business running its operations and conducting other activities related to its existence. The impact can be direct in the case of the business's customers and suppliers or indirect in the case of the communities in which the business chooses to place its locations. Businesses must consider the needs and expectations of its stakeholders, though it need not consider them to be of equal importance. For example, a business should be considerate of its host communities because that improves its reputation and strengthens its market presence. On the other hand, if the business chooses to ignore its host communities, that disregard becomes a black mark on its reputation and can result in other sanctions if relations become bad enough.
