When I was younger, I lived in a heavily populated town: Laredo, Texas. At the time, I was an eighth grader trying to make my mom proud by getting good grades in my classes. Seeing my mom happy was the greatest feeling in the world. My father, on the other hand, started to disappear on us. I found out that my dad had a drug problem, and my mom was filing for a divorce. I did not want my mom getting a divorce, but I knew she would be happier. My parents splitting up killed me, but it was best for my mother and me.
