Introduction
In this paper I will be discussing the importance of the consultant-client relationship and how important it is to communicate with the client in building relationships in consulting with the client. Consulting is a widely misunderstood term that is often characterized by consultants as the individual being an expert in a certain field such as Information Technology, or Management. In order to have a effective consultant - client relationship the consultant must understand the organization history in order to be successful (Djavanshir, G. Reza and Tarokh, M.J, 2010. P.4).

As first being new to consulting the consultant have to establish what the issue is. What exactly the client wants from the consultant. According to the client they are looking at running two (2) Human Resources system and is looking to reduced overhead and increase productivity. In order to be proactive as the consultant one must make sure to avoid potential pitfalls, disappointments and frustration that can lead to failure. The clients is looking to the consultants primary goal which is to provide services that guarantee customer satisfaction. what the issue or problem is and this is an opportunity for the consultant and client to establish a good working relationship. This is an important phase in the business process because the consultant must show authentic behavior with the client as you have to put in words what your experiencing with the client. Doing this process this is the most powerful thing a consultant can do to create leverage that one is looking for and to build client commitment. By being authentic this gives credibility to the relationship between the consultant and the client. If the consultant shows lower trust then this leads to lower leverage and lower client commitment (Block, P. ch.3, …show more content…
The client must provide feedback to the consultant whether it is positive or negative feedback. The client has to asked questions and cannot be afraid of not being knowledgeable to what is going on and must asked questions because there is no such thing as a stupid question just the question that is never asked. The client and consultant must have frequent status meetings to discuss any issues or problems that may arise. These meetings should be used to address any other issues or concerns that the client might have (Chronoboy, K. & Gardner, W., 1990. P-28).
In conclusion I have discussed the importance of the client consulting relationship and communicating strategies and how as the consultant that the lines of communication must remain open with the client and I discussed the importance of building a good relationship with the
