Abstract
Many instructional approaches exist that have been developed to reach more students. Teachers have to select the instructional approaches that work best for students. These approaches have been tested and researched from various theoretical perspectives. An education theory is the speculative thought of education and just like any other theory; it explains, guides, and describes the practices of education. The earliest speculation on educational processes began during the times of classical sophists and Greek philosophers. Current education speculations use terms like andragogy, curriculum, learning pedagogy, education organization, leadership, and policy. Education thought is derived from various disciplines like, philosophy, sociology, critical theory, psychology, and history among others. This paper will discuss five topics based on the best education theory to be applied in the classroom setting with focus on two education theories postulated by Lev Vygotsky and John Dewey. This paper will also address information processing by students, behaviors of teachers to promote thinking, implications of language development on learning and teaching, and on the relationship between the emotional and social development on student behavior and learning.

Classroom Observation Analysis Education theory can either be descriptive like in the sciences or normative like in philosophy. Education theory postulates what education processes are supposed to consist of; it sets the standards, norms, and goals in carrying out an education process. The scientific education theory gives a set of hypotheses, which have to be experimented and verified. The two approaches have produced two broad categories of education theories, which are the functionalist’s theory of education arising from the sociological perspective of education and the behaviorist theory of education from the psychology of education.     In one form or another, philosophies of education have existed throughout many years of our history, dating back much further than the development of the first classroom. From the beginning, the philosophy of education has existed in some sense, whether with the past educational practices of survival of a specific population or culture in a home setting, or the state regulated educational system and practices existing today. While the philosophy of education is a very diverse subject involving many questions, concerns, debates, and opinions, it can be primarily summed up by defining the philosophy of education as an ongoing conversation about the important issues and concerns focusing in education, and involving teachers, students, learning, and knowledge. Many classical educational philosophies exist today, including old to newly recent additions, but as an educator of anything to anyone, it is important to own a personal educational philosophy to help make everyday decisions throughout a career. Many personal philosophies may run similar, but because every individual has their own individuality, ideas, knowledge, experience, and opinion, no two personal philosophies share all of the same views. With some philosophies, theories are teacher-centered, and with others, student-centered, but they all have the same goal: and the goal is to provide students with the best education possible.     The theory of practice of teaching and interpreting knowledge, also known as education, is generally percepted in society to be the surest path to achieving success in one's lifetime. Over the centuries, the system of learning has changed jurastically and has presented itself in a number of different ways to a variety of cultures and civilizations. The earliest forms of education date back to pre-history, which is what we refer to as the time before the written word. In that spectrum, teaching and learning was carried out only through sounds and body language; a lot like the interactions we see amongst animals today. We all know that education is of great value, and that's why in recent generations the major problems that have arised have all dealt with who gets to be educated and at what price. Those problems have been resolved and for quite some time now, a free public education has been available in the United States. The new problems are the questions like, "Is it losing quality? , Does the criteria need to be updated?" and "Is it worth the price?"     During my first round of practicum, I went to a kindergarten classroom with around 20 to 25 students in the classroom. I went to Miller Elementary and Mrs. Schuchard was my cooperative teacher. I walked in and was immediately placed with students to work with. In the morning the students were working on their daily five and phonics. One thing that I observed that I found very interesting is that the teacher had two rug areas for meetings. When she needed to teach the children for a longer period of time, she would tell them to move over to the other area in order to make them have a brain break and then refocus.
