Couch Potato Reviews Modern Family
The Trip of a Lifetime?
Could a holiday with three kids possibly be turned into a honeymoon? Or will it all end in disaster? Hello, internet, we here at Couch Potato are visiting Modern Family, and today we will be reviewing a classic episode from way back in Season One: “Hawaii”.

The family has gone on a trip to Hawaii for Jay’s birthday, and Phil wants to turn it into the honeymoon he and Claire never had, however, things don’t go too well. He doesn’t want to reveal this to Mitch, though, as it is one of the things he likes most about him. Cue the very Modern Family-esque gay misunderstanding. When Cam refuses to go to the Lavender Ranch, Mitch is distraught. “But... The Lavender Ranch, it’s… it’s something two men are meant to do together!” But when he gets back, Cam introduces Mitch to the world of relaxing, and Mitch likes it. However, things end with them losing Lily, and all of that relaxed attitude with her. Cam then shows his flamboyant gay side when he runs up and down the stairs screaming things like: “Seal off the island!” A hilarious representation not to be

From a sociological perspectives as to why Randy gets in trouble so often this could be related to his race, his lack of real family and growing up in the system, his lack of education, and his lack of money. In the Wire you see the teachers and principal use this against him by threatening to call his foster mom unless he gives them the information they want, such as, who has been graffitiing school property. His lack of money is what reluctantly drives him to do things he might not want to, such as, delivering a message to Lex which led Lex into a trap though Randy did not know that it was a trap till after the deed was done and he was given more money for his part. This is an example of sanction, a reward for following the norms, though alternatively a…

The fable, "The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing" and the movie "10 Things I Hate About You" share the theme Appearances can be deceiving by presenting a character in which they act a certain way, but are really not what they seem to be. Which she does and eventually falls for him, only to later find out that he was just doing it for money. She felt betrayed, much like how the lamb might of felt in her last seconds of life when she realized that the sheep, she thought she belonged to was actually a grisly wolf. The movie I…
