Chapter Summary: The Most Dangerous Game
The Most Dangerous Game Alternative Ending Rainsford knew what he is going to do -swim back to the house and kill General Zaroff. But he saw a huge white object when he was swimming and he was tired, so he decided to give himself a break and see what the white object was. The general figured out that Rainsford jumped into the sea, and he realized that he might find out his secret, but he just ignored that possibility. He just told Ivan to guard the secret place. Unfortunately, he also ignored the fact that if Rainsford was swimming back to the house, which was something he was going to do, Ivan cannot defeat him and protect the secret. But he did not realize that he was smart enough to figure out his secret and the island's secret. …show more content…
If anyone wanted to get the treasure, the cannibals would at that person. And one hundred years later, nearly all of the cannibals died because of disease. the general read the story of the island, he captured the only cannibal left on the island, which is Ivan, and he made Ivan work for him or he will kill Ivan. General Zaroff found the treasure and put them inside his bedroom. He put some dynamite in the boat in case someone found out and he could leave and easily destroy the whole island. Rainsford carried the dynamic to the house, dug out the treasure and carried those onto the boat. Then he figured out how to destroy the island. He then had everything done and left the island. The island was destroyed five minutes after he left. And everyone on the island died. He was rescued by a nearby yacht one day after he left, and he returned to New York. After he got home, he figured out that the treasure actually worth one million dollars. He bought a huge house for himself and he donated the rest of his money to a local charity. And his friend Whitney figured out that his friend finally gave up

This also means Rainsford has won the hunt and is finally free and does not have to worry about hunting humans or ever being the prey again. The ending didn't tell you a lot, but told you some main things so you know and can put together with what happened next.     Immediately upon arriving at Zaroff’s chateau, he greets Ivan at the door by saying, “Don’t be alarmed. I’m no robber. I fell off a yacht. My name is Sanger Rainsford of New York City” (4). Since Rainsford is only looking to find help, he communicates with Ivan at the chateau to tell him that he is not from here and needs and would like a shelter to be in for the night.
