Case Study On Newspring
Perry Noble Fired from Newspring Perry Noble started Newspring church in the year 2000, with only a few people in a living room. Now there are over 30,000 members attending at campuses all over the state of South Carolina every week. He built the church on a foundation of finding lost people, but along the way he began to abuse alcohol. In July of 2016, Perry Noble was fired from his position as Senior Pastor at Newspring Church. In the fall out of this recent event the whole church has been affected, staff members are working to refocus on what the mission of the church is, volunteers are working hard to still serve through the difficult change, and attendees are having to regain trust of those who lead them spiritually. Because the senior …show more content…
Throughout the process of finding a new pastor to lead and steward the church, the volunteers are remaining. A volunteer position at Newspring can be anything from a greeter to a community group leader. Every role is equal and important and they treated as such. Some volunteers are still carrying the weight of Perry’s absence, but others are still clinging to hope. Most still hold on to one of the phrases Newspring is known for, “The Best is Yet to Come”. Brandy Singleton a volunteer and an attendee since 2006 told WYFF4 News that “as long as we [volunteers] keep with the positive momentum that the church will be okay". Throughout the struggle of uncertainty, the volunteers of Newspring, across the state of south Carolina are coming together to fight through. Newspring church would not survive without the devoted volunteers, but serving through change is challenging. Volunteers will continue to serve; their positions may change because of the recent events but the purpose behind the roles remains, “To work together to reach our state with the Gospel, remain in community with one another, and continue to make a difference in the lives of people around us” …show more content…
It is a stressful time for the community at this church, full of uncertainty and confusion. No church family would ever want this to happen but true faith is revealed in these times, and this church is leading by example. More confusion has been brought on with the regular attendees in these past few weeks than ever. Many people have questions about the credibility of the sermons that were shared from the stage when Perry was still in charge. Others have questions about who will be in charge next. The multitude of people just want to know any information they can get their hands on. Perry Noble leaving has shaken the churches people, causing them to question the new leadership put in place. With many people trust was lost within the church, and with the leadership of Perry Noble. Now the congregation is having to form trust with the new team put in place to lead the church, a group of 4 men, to lead them spiritually in the right

Lori, I truly enjoyed your interview response on Reverend Jennifer Beagle. I can agree with her statement on developing a ministry, “It’s a battle worth fighting, suit-up, buckle-up, and don’t doubt that God is in everything. Find God in every circumstance and view people as creations”. (Beagle, 2015) Just as the varying parts of the human body need each other to best accomplish its work, so the Body of Christ needs to function interdependently, like a team. (Rom. 12:4-8; 1 Cor. 12:12-27) God so designed the Church that it "grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work". (Eph. 4:16) Christian leaders are servants. Jesus specifically addresses servant leadership…

At Justified By Faith Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN, I, Daniel H. Weems, Sr. serve as an Associate Pastor. We are a new church plant about seventeen months old and have around fifty active members. I have been asked to organize and implement a soul care ministry within the church. Stephen and Darleen Fournier were residents of the Milford Central School District; sought to use the school after hours for meetings of the Good News Club, a private Christian organization for children. Their request was denied because the meetings were considered the same as a religious worship, which was prohibited by the school’s community use policy. It is common to hear and feel a sense of gratitude and positive pride that LBC is an excellent church from both leadership on the platform and the small group settings participant. Any faults that could be found are minor, and pale in comparison to many of the issues that a church could face. LBC is a regional church with multiple campus locations strategically selected for maximum impact to reach Kanas City with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. This as a result of a shared vision and cooperation of the staff, members, and Pastor Steve Dighton’s previous leadership as the founding pastor. LBC is also known as the flagship conservative evangelical church in KC. Despite LBC’s current size it has maintained a small church…

    Newsvendor Problem

    • 3089 Words
    • 13 Pages

The newsvendor model has been used in operations management and applied economics for years to determine optimal ordering quantity under uncertain demand. Perishable goods such as banana and lettuce cannot be carried from one period to another. Managers have to make decision on the inventory level of perishable goods over a very limited period. For example, due to the uncertainty of the demand of the newspaper, the newsboy has to decide how many newspapers to order each day. If he orders too few, he will forgo some profit; if he orders too much, any unsold newspaper left will be worthless at the end of the day. Some nonperishable good like seasonal fashion cloths cannot be sold at the same price when they are carrying from one period to the next. Unsold merchandise at the end of the period is generally sold at a deep discount. In contrast to restocking lettuce or newspaper, which is done daily, this decision would be made once for the selling season. These single-period decision models are called the Newsvendor Problem.…

    Kimball Argument Analysis

I really enjoyed this article. It has been one of my favorites thus far. Kimball had many quality arguments and opinions on what needs to change within the church. His main point of this article is stated on page 86, "I believe true emerging churches must go deep within, and form the inside out, rethink. reshape, and revalue how we are about everything as culture changes. We must rethink leadership, church structure, the role of a pastor, spiritual formation, how community is lived out, how evangelism is done, how we express our worship, etc. It is not about what we do in the worship service, but about everything". I agree with Kimball that the Church still has a lot of growing to do, and trough that growing there must be some changes made along the way. Over the years we have lost our way, and need help guiding us back on the right path.…

When one hears the term servant, it is usually associated with the Bible since it clearly indicates that all Disciples of Christ or believers are servants. Servant is defined as “a person working in the service of another”. When Robert K. Greenleaf first defined the phrase “Servant Leadership” he pointed out that the difference between it and leader was “a servant aspiring to serve and taking up leadership as result” (Greenleaf, 1977). Leader is defined as a person who rules or guides or inspires others. Being considered as a servant first, a servant leader’s priority is to lead in a way that they are serving others by developing them as well as giving their undivided attention to their colleagues and those they serve (Spears, 1998). Taking into consideration Greenleaf’s characteristics of servant leadership and the Biblical doctrine as well other philosophies, we will explore the idea that the Servant Leadership is “compatible with most religions and theories of philosophy.”…

What I want to convey if I love Hamlin and I would never leave Hamlin out of frustration I will accept whatever position I was given, but most importantly I'm going to follow God in whatever I do in my life. I would love to have the opportunity to step in with the kids I love in the church I love with the people I love and help further God's kingdom. So I would love the opportunity to step in and be the interim youth pastor, I don't care about being paid I don't care about my salary I would just like the opportunity to show you all my vision, to walk the walk not just talk to talk. At the end of the day if you all decide I'm not the man for the job we've lost nothing but time which isn't ours anyway so when that time comes and you do hire someone else I will step down, I would accept that you all decided I'm not the man for the job but before you do give someone outside of our church the position I would love to have the opportunity to raise up already as a member of the church and fill the shoes that Hamlin needs…

Alyda Reyes, a staff member of the church, Centro Vida, and a student pastor of its student ministry, was able to provide insights in regards to the ministry. When she attended Bible College, the church provided her an opportunity to serve within the church. She is under Pastor Jonathan Shivers, who is in charge of all student involvements, and Pastor Jonathan Shivers and Alyda Reyes are under the Senior Pastor, John Shivers. The interview went well, straightforward, and quick. I was unable to reach the overseeing pastor of all of the youth pastors since he was busy: we recently successfully finished our first student conference. Alyda is one of a couple pastors teaching the young people. Pastor Jonathan thought it was effective to have multiple student pastors to aid him in pastoring the student ministry of 150 students. For several years, Alyda has overseen the student ministry under Pastor Jonathan.…
