Mrs. Pettit was a licensed elementary teacher in California working with intellectually disabled students. She was working with students over thirteen years before her career came to an end. Pettit career was abrupt because she and her spouse joined a club in Los Angeles call Swingers. Throughout her career as being an elementary teacher, she had nothing but positive reports on her. (Shaw,2014, p.342). In this paper, I will be discussing whether the Board of Education violated Mrs. Pettit, fired her due to her actions, explain her unprofessional behavior, held teachers to a higher standard, and five behaviors showing immoral or unprofessional conduct

After reading this case, I would not say Pettit’s behaviors was immoral. Pettit has the right to do whatever she likes outside of her career. I feel like whatever goes on in her own life is her business. However, I do feel it was unprofessional for her to get on television to discuss her sex life. She set up a bad reputation for herself when she got on television discussing her private sex life. I feel like that is why the board is saying she is an unfit teacher because they feel like she is not a good role model for the kids by doing that. The first behavior is showing favoritism with certain students, and that is immoral behavior. I feel like teachers should treat and respected all kids the same way no matter what the situation is. Cheating is also immoral conduct I feel like it is most definitely wrong for a teacher to just give students answers. If the student is struggling with the assignment, the teacher job is to help and make sure the students fully understand the work not just giving answering. Disrespectful to the teacher is immoral and unprofessional because all kids should respect all adults whether it is their parents or not. That let the students know to receive respected you must show it as well. It is unprofessional for a teacher to gossip in the classroom. My reason for saying that it is unprofessional is because of the teachers or showing the kids how to talk about one another. They are supposed to be showing the kids how to interact with one another and care for each other. Their job is to encourage the kids to have a positive attitude towards people instead of negative. Lying can be an unprofessional behavior as well it will have the kids thinking it is cool to lie when it is

At Duncanville High School World History class the teacher Julie Phung had been lack in teaching her student all year. But one day student Jeff Bliss got fed up with her teaching strategies and decided to give his opinion about the way she teach and encourage her to teaching a different strategies that she learn them. If you can just get up and teach them instead of handing them a freakin’ packet, yo (Bliss, 2013). There are kids in here who don’t learn like that, they need to teach face-to-face (Bliss, 2013). This was not a set up but the student Jeff Bliss was tired and angry about the way he was learning so he did something about it. The students can benefits from teaching if you have effective strategies and teacher need to improve her way of teaching. Student Jeff Bliss will lose because he will get suspended and teacher will get view by the board. The position I take on this issue that student Jeff Bliss should not confront her in public but wait until after class in a calm voice. I believe she did great by telling him to leave but not saying that any student are waste her time.…

The teacher is one of the child's ideal, it is very important for a teacher to have qualities which impress the child and the qualities which he can imitate and thus become good. For example, swearing in front of your children teaches them that bad language is appropriate. The teacher who seemed to be angry and unhappy put negative impact on children and young people. If we can‘t listen and respect the class teacher then it make negative impact on children and young people. We can’t tell them to do something when we do not do it ourselves.…
