Intro
Did you ever know who makes all the aesthetic looks in a house, cabinets, etc? That person is a carpenter, a master craftsman capable of building many different structures. This career requires a lot of work with your hands, needing to be capable of build simple house, hold furniture, cabinets, and trim around a window. While carpentry has been in human history for thousands of years, used by ancient Romans, Egyptians, etc, we still use it today in all types of modern craft. Although there have not been many people in the carpentry field that have been famous or influential, it is clear that ancient cultures have a huge impact on the modern craft. “akjsfdhdkjhf” (Last name, year).

The ability to shape wood improved with technological advancements from the Stone Age all the way to today. Some of the oldest discovered archaeological evidence of carpentry are water well casings constructed using split oak timbers that was excavated in eastern Germany about 7,000 years ago in the early. There is little information about carpentry from pre-history before written language, or even in recent past centuries, because the most of the knowledge and skills were passed down person to person and rarely in writing. Then when the printing press was invented, builders began consistently publishing guides. The oldest surviving complete architectural text is a series of ten books titled De Architectura, written by a Roman man. Some of the oldest surviving wooden buildings in the world are the temples located in China, such as the Nanchan Temple built 13 centuries ago. Also the Greensted Church built in the 11th century and the stave churches in Norway built from the 12th and 13th centuries. Then much later America was discovered based on a desire to extract resources from an unknown new continent that included wood for building ships in Europe. Later in the 18th century, the steam engine was invented along with many other inventions. There are many key points in carpentry that everyone should know, such as what tools to use, what techniques of cutting to use, what measurements to take. These are major factors in the outcome of the thing you are crafting. If you make a mistake, you might have to restart everything you did, so it is crucial to pay attention and follow each step the exact way it needs to be followed. It is important that you are aware of what is happening when you are a carpenter because your job and safety could be at risk.
Life as a carpenter
Carpentry requires the skill of being focused. Without focus you could be seriously injured or lose your job. The job requires you to use sharp objects to cut which can seriously mess up your project or even worse, hurt yourself. While you are at risk on the job, the job certainly pays a nice average income. Averaging 44k a year, it is the perfect job to live a nice simple life.
Conclusion
In all, being a carpenter is not a bad job. You get a decent pay. The actual work you do is not that bad if you do not mind using your hands. In addition, the future industry of carpentry only grows bigger and bigger every year, as it has for thousands of years. There are always more and more things that need to be built by more and more
