Caribbean Beach Observation Report
On June 19, 2016 I was in Puerto Morelos next to the Caribbean Sea. I woke up at 6:30 am and went for a walk on the beach for half an hour as the sun was rising and the seaweed cleaners were working. The geology of the beach was smooth without shells and then there were some patches of rocky areas on the shore. Then around noon my sister and I went snorkeling in the sea and we saw turtles and schools of fishes moving in and out of coral reefs. The farther you got out in the sea it gets dark and deeper but some parts are shallow and clear. As I am sitting alone on the beach I can hear waves, birds, seaweed tractor, and people talking. The beach is well kept of the natural things that come up to shore like the seaweed. The unnatural structures

For this Field report, I visited a wooded area that is near the beach in Chesapeake Beach. From a quick glance, I saw a combination of mature trees and young trees. Since I can see that the trees lost their leaves during the Fall, I will state that they are deciduous trees. They shed their leaves through the process of abscission. For the mature tree in this picture I observed that the trunk is darker than the younger trees in the background and about 15 to 20 feet tall if not higher. Walking through the fallen leaves you can hear branches and twigs break and when I touched the soil it did not feel totally dry since it rained the day before.…

The waves of the beaches that I observed were all not very big at the time of my observation. The waves were also not going very fast due to the time that I observed at. The weather at the time was cloudy, and I did not see many people at the beaches because it is early in the morning. I also noticed that some of the beaches in Hawaii have rocks near them, while some are surrounded by different types of sand colors. The colors of the waters at different beaches are also different, some are in lighter colors, while the other ones in darker colors.…

The turquoise blue water of the Caribbean Ocean was warm and calm. I was surprised by the gentle slope of the seabed and how far we were able to walk out before we could no longer touch the bottom. We were soon diving in 15 feet of water. The vibrant colors of the coral, sponges and exotic fish was mesmerizing. My friends wanted to venture out into deeper water where the ocean was distinctively darker; where the larger fish could be found.…
