For my career choice I want to be an ultrasound technician. My step-mom and Aunt-in-law both have accomplished roles in the medical field. They are definitely two role models I want to follow. I won’t let this goal fall through the cracks. However, to become an ultrasound technician there are certain steps I have to take.

The ultrasound is to detect any blockage of arteries, veins, or a heart. While viewing the sonogram the technician can assist the attending physician. The ultrasound can reveal damage from a previous heart attack, or problems like the heart pumping to hard or too weak. This can also reveal if the patient needs surgery.
OB/GYN is another field where ultrasound technicians work. OB/GYN stands for obstetrics and gynecology which is where you view fetuses in the womb. The ultrasound can show size, weight, gender, or any problems involving the baby. The sonogram can also show or test problems involving small tumors, cysts, or any other diseases inside the uterus, vaginal canal, or cervix.
Diagnostic medical sonographers can also work in the E/R. In the case of an emergency situation the ultrasound technician can use their equipment to find any injuries inside the body. A few examples that can be found using a ultrasound is appendicitis, ruptured spleen, lacerated liver, and shattered bones. Sonographers who work in the E/R are usually very busy or they can have no work at all. Other places involving diagnostic sonographers can be pretty

Ultrasonography, commonly called sonography, is a diagnostic medical procedure that uses high frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to produce dynamic visual images of organs, tissues, or blood flow inside the body. This type of procedure is often referred to as a sonogram or ultrasound scan. Sonography can be used to examine many parts of the body, such as the abdomen, breasts, female reproductive system, prostate, heart, and blood vessels. Sonography is increasingly being used in the detection and treatment of heart disease, heart attack, and vascular disease that can lead to stroke. It is also used to guide fine needle, tissue biopsy to assist in taking a sample of cells from an organ for lab testing (for example, a test for cancer in breast tissue). This imaging technique is performed by an Ultrasound technician, who is an ultrasonography specialist. The specialist would direct ultrasonic waves into the patient’s body to diagnose the medical condition of internal organs or foetus’ development. Ultrasound is a non invasive procedure and is highly preferred over other diagnostic procedures. As the technology evolves it will become a more preferred diagnostic tool over other diagnostic tools. I expect that most ultrasound technicians will find job opportunities in hospitals where they are stationed at a diagnostics area or will be doing bed to bed conductions on patients that cannot be moved. Other than working in a hospital there are opportunities to work in private physician offices and clinics. I believe it will be a fast paced and a high-pressure environment in the hospital and sonographers should be able to withstand the physical demands of this job and have good communication skills as well as interpersonal skills. The diagnostics area should be a private space where the patient will feel comfortable and safe. I expect the type of work to be performing ultrasound exams, reviewing patient's medical records, recording images,…
