Persuasive Essay for Career Choice – 75 points

You will write a persuasive essay to an important adult in your life. You will attempt to convince the reader (the adult) that your career choice in an acceptable one. You will need to use logical argument, self observation, and researched facts to persuade the reader to adopt your perspective. Through this essay, you will learn the form of a persuasive argument and also demonstrate awareness of the education and training needed to achieve career goals.

Objectives
You will identify your skills and interests and what career might match them.
You will demonstrate knowledge of a persuasive argument.
You will demonstrate the ability of using reference materials, computer information, and interviews to convey a clear and accurate perspective on the subject matter.

Your essay must have:
An interesting introduction.
A clear thesis.
Opposing paragraphs that sound reasonable.
Topic sentences at the start of each reason paragraph.
Transitions between all paragraphs.
Reason paragraphs with proper structure (topic sentence, explanatory sentences, specific, colorful examples, closing sentence).
A conclusion with
Restated thesis
A list of three points/reason
An idea to end essay – possibly a solution, challenge, quote, etc.
The appropriate audience addressed.
