Bullying in the Workplace
This article basically told about how nurses were treated in the workplace. They had an expression that they would use “nurses eat their young” which means that the older nurses would just let the young up coming nurses just fall on their face and laugh at them as they would fail at their job. Some of the ways that bullying can lead to violence in the workplace is if you just keep on someone and not let up, that can get to someone after a period of time and can cause them to go over the edge and cause harm to the person that is causing the bullying and sometime it can cause death. Watching someone do a job and the job that they are doing is not correct and you are just standing back and laughing at them and wanting them to fail is a form of bullying. Telling someone that they are stupid and can’t do their job and call them a failure, this makes that person a nervous wreck and when that happens they can’t do their job correctly and that can cause them to fail at their job. Going around in the office talking about someone that is a form of bullying because that makes it very hard for the person to come to work and face all the people that has been talking about them. Management could put together programs for the employees to work together like workshops. Where they have one on one and get to know each other and have to learn to rely on each other for correct information so in order to do that there should not be any kind of bullying going on. If there is still a problem in the workplace with bullying then I fill that this needs to be a issue that personal would have to handle. Because sometimes an office could be just fine until you have just one person that has to be the one to start the bullying and if you can eliminate that person that is the bully then most of the time the workplace can go back to the way it was before the bullying started.
