Bubble Wrap As An Insulator
There are so many choices on insulation, it gets overwhelming very easily! My partner Jenna and I researched and found that bubble wrap can be a great insulator. It is a great insulator because it has air pockets, the air will react slowly letting less heat into the house at a time. However, we did find one downfall to bubble wrap as an insulator, it needs to be replaced every couple years. Even though it needs replaced it slows heat transfer much more than cotton will. It would help a lot to place your bubble wrap with the bubbles facing the inside not only will it help performance, it is easier to put in. It may be a hard decision but any insulation will help cool your house.

    Loft Insulation

Loft insulation reduces heat loss by the materials used for insulation preventing the movement of the heated air particles , this is done by the fibres not letting the warm air escape. The energy is transferred by a conductor being the ceiling , into the loft. Without loft insulation a convection current takes place where the warm air moves through the roof space after the air at the base of the loft warms up leaving the air to escape through the roof (tiles). When the loft is insulated it is considered as a blanket trapping rising heat in the house. The convection current does not allow the uninsulated lofts to move the air in the insulation. Heat energy in the loft is transferred by the convection currents to the roof tiles. It has trapped air which is a poor insulator as warm particles are less dense. There are four basic types of insulating materials used are matting,loose-fill,blown insulation is made of fire and rigid insulating boards.…

Choosing the right cooler for enjoying your time outdoors during the summer is not an easy task. You want one that is going to hold ice for hours, but not be too expensive or heavy to carry. A lot of people also prefer the soft-sided coolers because when not in use, they are easy to store, but when in use, they can often hold more. They are also lighter when empty, so you know they are automatically going to be lighter when full. To prove it, we will take a look at the IceMule in our IceMule cooler review. It is soft-sided and provides you with more than you may expect from a soft sided cooler.…

There is a clear line in the sand between Mr. Winkler and Mr. Leiter on how to evaluate the project, specifically regarding how to account for using Energy bar’s excess capacity for producing Energy Gel. After reviewing the arguments of both managers we agree with Leiter that the Energy Gel project should be evaluated on the full cost approach as this will best represent the project’s true potential. We agree with Leiter that the energy gel project should not have a “free ride” on the equipment utilized by both…

A basement can be conditioned (to maintain a constant indoor temperature) or unconditioned, where the indoor temperature fluctuates with the outdoor temperature. For a conditioned basement, only the basement walls (not the floor) need to be insulated as per the requirements of the local energy code. Generally, the insulation need not extend beyond 10 feet below the ground. Basement walls may be insulated from the inside or the outside. In a multilevel commercial basement, the insulation is required only for the upper basement level. Therefore, in such basements, interior insulation is common. In residential basements, which are only one level deep, outside placement of insulation (over the entire depth of the basement) is common.…

The front and back sides of padded envelopes sandwich one of two types of protective padding: recycled fibers, or plastic bubble wrap. The former resembles shredded natural cotton or macerated newsprint, using pure soft bulk for protection. The latter uses a layer of thin, lightweight plastic with raised pockets of trapped air. The pockets or "bubbles" provide the protection in this type of mailer.…
