The Bonobo Monkey is a species that is commonly seen in zoos around the world, but they’re located in the wild primarily at the Democratic Republic of Congo. They’re also a very close relative, they share more than 98% of our DNA, which also makes them our closest relative alongside the chimpanzee. Bonobo’s serve as a symbol of peace and cooperation. Sex transcends reproduction, as it does in human society, and serves to promote bonding. Sadly, the Bonobo Monkey is endangered, they’re classified by the IUCN Red List as facing possible extinction because of hunting and logging. Acting now can save them.
