Biotic is anything that is living and Abiotic is anything that is non-living. An example of biotic factor from the movie would be a Pig, Dinosaur, and Birds. An example of an abiotic factor would be Rocks, Building, and water.

A Purebred animal is an animal that is its own breed and isn't mixed with any other animal. A hybrid is an altered animal or an animal that is a mixed breed. An example of a hybrid would be the Indominus Rex. The rex was designed and altered by scientist in the lab.

A mutation is something that is genetically changed. The scientist wanted the dinosaur to have more teeth and to be stronger, so they mutated the DNA to make the Dinosaur how they wanted it.

For animals, being able to adapt in nature is a matter of life and death. Through evolution and natural selection, animals have acquired behavioral and physical traits called adaptations that enable them to acquire food, escape predators and attract mates. The cheetah has the speed necessary to run down its prey, monarchs secrete a poison that deters predators from feasting on it and the hummingbird has a very long tongue for extracting nectar from flowers. These are some of the more obvious adaptations. However, if we take a closer look, we see that all organisms have several adaptations for living and surviving in their environment. The polar bear is a great example of adaptation. This bear is very different from its cousins to the…

When a species looks different from another this is a physical adaptation. When an animal mates with another they produce an offspring with physical and behavioral traits that were passed down from their parents. If these traits can help an animal survive that specific animal tries to keep that deformity or trait within the family. These are mostly physical traits. An example of these are finches.…

Throughout the exhibit I saw many examples of adaptation. Under each unique display, there would be a description on how the organism would live in there habitat. One example talked about their tails, and that some were more flexible and broad, for sudden bursts of speed to attack prey or escape danger. Others would have stiff, sickle shaped tails for endurance on long journeys. Another example of adaptation is the blubber of whales and manatees. In colder these animals climates contain more blubber to keep them insulated from the cold. This exhibit made me realize the significance in adaptations and how important they are in life, without the necessary adaptations, many species could die…

Living things that are well adapted to their environment survive and reproduce. Those that are not well adapted don’t survive and reproduce. Any inherited trait that increases an organism’s ability to survive is called an adaptation. Remember that these adaptations are inherited traits; they are not changes that an individual chooses to make and that increases fitness, which is defined as the ability to survive and reproduce.…

Webster dictionary defines adaption as a change in a plant or animal that makes it better able to live in a particular place or situation. Plants and animals alike adapt in the face of adversity in order to survive and prosper. In the Botany of Desire, Micheal Pollan uses the theme of adaption to explain how the apple, tulip, cannabis, and potato have been able to survive so many centuries and become so intertwined with the human civilization. Just like the plants Pollan examined, animals have adapted to their environments in order to survive, those unable to adapt and evolve would become extinct; however, those successful -- i.e. the human race -- would go on to be a dominant race. The ability to adapt in order to survive is the human instinct that allows individuals to prosper in difficult situations, those who are unable to adapt become the people who make up the bottom rung of society.…

For such a complex concept a direct definition leaves more questions than answers. When a species changes biologically over time, evolution guides the process. All living species on earth effect one and other, during the evolutionary process. We depend on that change for our change and they depend on us to affect their change (Park, 2014). The success of those changes depends on the ever constant fight to adapt to the natural environment. For a species to survive depends on the best genetic mutation to survive the current environment. Humans use natural selection or changing the environment of species to cause the desired mutation to help produce food.…
