It was about 10:00 and it was time for our free period when we were allowed to go down the slides, the diving boards, or just swim on our own. Three of my buddies said they were going to go off the high dive, I was too shy to speak up about being afraid. I knew it was too little too late now I had to face my fears and just jump. We got in line, and it was as if I was in a trans just staring at everyone climb up the ladder and without hesitation jump and plunge into the icy water. Before I knew it I was on deck and I could feel stomach churning a little bit, as if on cue I heard the splash of Sam and knew it was my turn. I grabbed the metal bars and slowly made my way to the top, I felt like I was a mile off the…

So we decided to go find somewhere to park the boat for lunch. Eventually we found this really cool cave that had plenty of room to put the boat under, and we got out the sandwich stuff. It’s kind of a tradition we have to have sandwiches when we go boating or snowmobiling. So we got out the bread, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, meat, and pickles along with the fruit salad, and Powerades. After I had finished eating I got bored and decided to go for a swim, so I cannon balled in, and the water was even warmer inside of the cave! I just laid back on my lifejacket and floated, it was so…

My dad shot the elk at dusk and as the light began to dwindle he thought it was best to finish hauling everything out the next morning. “You’ll just be cold now and not hungry.” Everyone got settled in we got our poles set up with the right weights and lures. That proved to be quite difficult due the fact that our fingers hadn’t fully thawed yet. We dropped our lines into the water and hoped for the best especially with the luck we’ve had the past few years in the same general area. We fished for a while and didn’t get any bites so we added more weight to the lines so the bait would sink deeper and hopefully that would be where the fish were. We dropped our lines into the water and almost immediately my father had something on his line. He reeled in and the fish continued to fight. The fish came out of the water and flopped onto the ice above gasping for air. The monster he reeled in was a walleye no more than five inches long. “I didn’t know we were fishing for sharks.” I said…

After we were all on the boat we had to go through a beautiful inlet that lead out into the ocean. We were then instructed on how put our life jackets and harnesses on. The instructor decided that I was going to be the first one to go up in the air. I made my way to the front of the boat and sat down on the deck so he could hook the parachute to my harness. Without a warning he let the parachute go and then I was ascending up into the air almost felt like the speed of light! As I was going up, he shook the line to scare me. Finally when I reached 500 feet, I could see the shore line. It was a breath taking view. I could see giant sea turtles and I even saw a shark. I was in the air about 30 minutes. Then I started descending down. When I was close to the boat, he dunked me into the same water where I had just moments earlier seen the shark and the sea turtles.…

    Three biggest fears

One of my greatest fears is the fear of sharks. Silly right? When I was little, my grandmother would always take me and my other siblings down to the beach since her parents lived in florida. I would always take my goggles and snorkeler, swim out into the open ocean, and begin my search for sand dollars. One day came to where I had became lost in my search and found myself to be a little too far away from the shore. I popped my head out of the water and realized I couldn’t touch the bottom even though I had been able to see it. I dove back into the water only to find myself facing the side fin of a bull shark. I was instantly paralyzed with fear and thought I was looking death in the face. I swam as fast as I could to the sand bar because I knew it was closer to my location than the actual shore was. Once I was sitting on a whole bunch of sand and there was about an inch of water around me I was finally able to catch my breath. I crawled back to the shore where my family was and told them about my encounter. Being little they didn’t believe me, but not once did I go further than the sand bar after that. They told me to dry off because we were going to walk to a crab shack that happened to be on the beach we were on for lunch. We were only halfway between our set up and the crab shack when screams were coming from behind us. We…

In the fishing place, we made a chair from unuseful wood around of the river. Then, we sat on it and fishing together. Close to an hour, we had not got even one fish and made us felt so bored. Although, we were still going on and tried it again and again. About 30 minutes later, the float of my fishing equipment moved. Then my friend said that “you got it” and I pulled it and finally I got one fish, but it was not too big. I felt so happy and all of my friends came to me to see that fish.…
