Introduction/ Background Cellular respiration is a process that releases chemical energy from glucose and other carbon-based molecules to produce ATP when oxygen is present. The formula for cellular respiration is C6H12O6+ 6O2= 6CO2= 6H2O. The process of respiration contains three main parts, glycolysis, Krebs cycle, and the Electron Transport Chain.
