This is a quote from Paco Underhill, retail anthropologist and author of the books, Call of the Mall and Why We Buy: The Science of Shopping.

Underhill’s studies have shown without a doubt what many of us already know, that the length of “time a shopper spends in a store depends on how comfortable and enjoyable the experience is.” Although we may already know this, as retailers, we often find it difficult to see our stores as our customers perceive them.
